A Yorkshire Terrier is fighting for her life after a vicious attack by two Huskies, one of which shook her "like a rat".
Owner Ray Skelly said his beloved dog Suzie is in a critical attack after the assault left her with a punctured lung, three broken ribs and deep cuts.
Following emergency surgery, a vet admitted the pooch's prognosis is "not great", Yorkshire Live reports.
Ray was taking Suzie on her daily walk in Barnsley town centre, South Yorks, when they passed a man sat on a bench with two Huskies beside him.
He claims one of the dogs made a beeline for Suzie as they walked past.
Ray said: "The Husky didn't hesitate, it went straight for Suze like she was a rat, shaking her.
"The owner came over, presumably to try and stop the attack, but he brought his other dog with him. Then it was two on one.
"Suzie never leaves my side – it's just me and her and I felt helpless as the attack unfolded."

Ray said Suzie has understandably been left traumatised by the shocking attack and it comes just months after the family lost its other dog Sam.
Kelly Sanderson witnessed the attack and rushed to help, running to the nearest vets with the stricken dog.
She has since started a fundraising page to help Ray with the vet bills.
Kelly said: "I took Suzie in my arms and the vet straight away said her prognosis isn't great. But Ray wanted to fight for her, and I knew I had to help.
"We're hoping that the community can come together and help both Ray and Suzie in their time of need.
"We've got everything crossed for her."
Ray has reported the attack to South Yorkshire Police who are investigating.
