What time was the coronavirus press conference today?
The daily coronavirus press briefing takes place between 4pm and 6pm UK time.
This evening, Rishi Sunak updated Brits from Downing Street at 5pm.
The briefings are available to watch live on BBC News, but are also available to stream online
Practicing social distancing, journalists now will be attending the conference virtually to ask questions.
What was announced in the briefing today?
Mr Sunak tonight announced new measures to help the self-employed as he reassured them 'you have not been forgotten' and that 'we all stand together'.
The Chancellor said: 'Today I am announcing a new self-employed income support scheme.'
The self-employed who have suffered financially as a result of the coronavirus outbreak will be able to claim a grant worth 80 per cent of their average monthly profits up to £2,500 a month.
These measures will be in place for at least three months and is 'one of the most generous packages in the world.'
The money will be paid in a single lump sum, but will not start to arrive until the start of June at the earliest.
Previously, Boris has said he could not promise the country would beat the virus "without any kind of hardship at all".
