Two women have been injured in a double-stabbing attack in Manchester this morning.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) attended Atherton Road in Hindley, near Wigan, at about 10.30am.
Several ambulances were called the scene and two people have been taken to hospital, a North West Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
Two air ambulances have also been seen landing at the scene, reports Manchester Evening News.
Surrounding streets have been cordoned off.
A GMP spokesman said: "Police are continuing to investigate as two people were stabbed on Atherton Road, Hindley.
"Two women received serious injuries.
"This is not being treated as a terror related incident.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
The public are advised to avoid the area where possible.
The victims have not yet been identified.
