Vile graffiti reading "one less rat" has been sprayed all over a memorial for stillborn babies.
Police are investigating a series of sickening notes left on gravestones at Dunfermline Cemetery in Fife, Scotland, which has left a community reeling.
The white spray paint was first spotted on Saturday morning, May 1, and has since been swiftly removed by the authorities, whose enquiries into finding the responsible yob remain at a "very early stage".
The largest of "disgusting" comments left at the cemetery said "one less rat" on a tribute at the Snowdrop Memorial Garden for still born and neonatal deaths, which read "For All Our Babies Briefly Known Forever Loved".
Below that the thug wrote "Covid Hoax", the Daily Record reports.
On another memorial, graffiti saying "f*** you's" was daubed.
Further down in the graveyard the sick vandal wrote more anti-pandemic messages on gravestones including "Reaction", and "Covid Hoax" on another.
Another gravestone, beside which flowers had been placed, was spray-painted with "Scum".
Police confirmed the graffiti has now been removed and their enquiries are continuing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.05 am on Saturday, 1 May, 2021, police were contacted with regard to a vandalism at a baby memorial within Dunfermline Cemetery, Halbeath Road, Dunfermline.
