A gunman is being hunted after at least three people have been killed in a "domestic situation" in Texas.
Officers from the Austin Police Department (APD) are at the scene in Austin and have told people to shelter and avoid the area.
A major road is being closed by emergency services in connection with the hunt.
Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services Department said three "adult patients" were dead at the scene of the shooting, which was reported shortly before noon, local time.
"No additional patients have been reported or located at this time," the department said on Twitter about an hour after the incident was first reported.
The police department tweeted: "APD is currently on scene of an active shooting incident at Great Hills Trail and Rain Creek Parkway.
"All residents are advised to shelter in place and avoid the area."
Austin Police Department added: "At this time the Great Hills Trail scene is still active. We are still asking residents to shelter in place and report suspicious activity.
"While a suspect is still at large it appears this is a domestic situation that is isolated and there is no risk to the general public.

Indianapolis City Police spokeswoman Genae Cook said: "As officers arrived, they came into contact with an active shooting incident.
"We have located eight people with gunshot wounds who were pronounced deceased at the scene."
The eight person death toll does not include the shooter. Officer Cook said it was too early to tell if the shooter was an employee at the facility and a motive remains unclear.
