A royal commentator has claimed that Prince William is being given more power within the Royal Family which could be at the detriment of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Duke of Cambridge is currently second-in-line to the throne, and will eventually succeed his father, Prince Charles.
Relations between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Royal Family have reportedly been tense since a number of allegations were made by the couple when their interview with Oprah Winfrey was broadcast in March.
And Neil Sean, a royal commentator, has claimed on his YouTube channel that a shift to a new dynamic is already taking place inside Buckingham Palace.
“There is one person who is now making the major decisions within the British monarchy, and rightly so, because very soon he will become our future king," he explained.
“A good source at Buckingham Palace tells me that it will be William making all of these decisions now moving forward.
“Simply because of the age of her majesty. Not that she’s not involved, but she wants him to have more of a hands-on role on how the monarchy should be shaped further into the 21st century."
He noted that although Prince Charles “is still a young chicken” at the age of 72, the Prince of Wales is aware he will likely not be on the throne for long.
This means, Neil claimed, “Prince William could be catapulted into the hot seat faster than he thought".
And Neil alleged that the consequences of William’s rise to power could be negative for Harry and Meghan, with the future king taking a harder stance than his “slightly softer” predecessors.
"But this is bad news for Harry and Meghan, because all the major decisions that maybe Harry and Meghan hoped to squeeze past the slightly softer Prince Charles, and possibly the more easy-going Her Majesty the Queen, will now all revert back to Prince William," he claimed.
Neil gave the reason for this as being related to the infamous interview the couple conducted with Oprah Winfrey, where a number of allegations were levelled against The Firm.
This included an unsubstantiated accusation that an unnamed royal had made remarks about the couple's son Archie's skin colour, and the claim that Kate had made Meghan cry in one incident.
During the interview, Harry also touched on his relationship with his brother, acknowledging that they are now on "different paths".
“And for Prince William himself, I am told that he really can’t move on from that diabolical interview that the twosome gave way back in March,” he added.
“A lot of people are saying, ‘oh they’ll eventually get over that and they’ll be able to reconcile, well for those that know Prince William well, he will not be moving forward from that because he doesn’t see a reason to.
“He doesn’t truly understand what the motivation was behind the duo sitting down to do the interview,
“And for them, that could be their very own undoing.”
