A paedophile sentenced to castration has said it left him “aching so badly” he could hardly walk.

The unnamed convict was jailed for 15 years in Kazakhstan for raping an underage girl.

Details of his identity and age were not revealed but the man spoke of undergoing chemical castration, which is now mandatory for life for convicted paedophiles in the ex-Soviet republic.

He said: “It is incredibly difficult, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

“I am pleading for help, and I want to appeal to everyone so that chemical castration is cancelled.”

The rapist, who first got an injection to reduce his libido, wants to have a family when he is released from prison.

He said: “I still hope to go back home, to continue my life.

“I want to have a family, I want to have children.

“My body is aching so badly after the injection that I struggle to walk, and it is scary.”

Kazakhstan has used chemical castration on 11 convicted paedophiles since a new law came into force in 2018.

His description of chemical castration has been apparently issued as a warning to potential child sex offenders.

Government funds have been allocated for the procedure to be used on 88 child sex attackers initially.

Kazakhstan purchased stocks of Cyproterone, a steroidal anti-androgen developed for fighting cancer, to use for chemical castration of paedophiles, according to reports.

The law applies to child sex attackers aged between 18 and 65.

A nurse and grandmother tasked with castrating paedophiles in one Kazakh jail claims the West should also follow the ex-Soviet state's example.

Zoya Manaenko, 68, insists it is right that child sex attackers should face this ultimate punishment.

The prison hospital worker said: “These people need to be stopped somehow.

“They commit terrible crimes against children. So it is right that the law allows this.”

But Russian psychiatrist Mikhail Pervushin claimed chemically castrated paedophiles, once released from jail, can become even more dangerous.

He warned such people are “mentally ill” and by blocking their sexual desire, they may instead kill, saying: “The big question is how these paedophiles will be tested for such a danger."
