NYPD arrests man accused of setting pride flags on fire

The hateful firebug who allegedly torched three gay pride flags in two separate incidents outside a Harlem bar was arrested on Tuesday, the NYPD said.

Tyresse Singleton, 20, was nabbed on multiple counts of criminal mischief, hate crimes and arson, police said.

Chief of Detectives Dermot F. Shea said calls to the NYPD tipline and the work of the NYPD Hate Crimes Task force “led to the identification and apprehension of the individual who burned the pride flag.”

Two of the rainbow-colored emblems were set on fire May 31, at the start of Pride Month, outside Alibi Lounge on West 139th Street near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd.

The flag-burner struck again early Monday outside the same watering hole.

Both incidents were caught on surveillance footage.
