A 15-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted managed to escape the clutches of her suspected kidnapper after convincing him to take her for food at a restaurant.
Mikella Debina was allegedly kidnapped from a Hawaii beach and thanks to her astuteness, she was rescued, with the police also managing to arrest the suspect, Duncan Mahi.
Mikella's mother said that her daughter was able to escape after convincing Mahi to take her to a restaurant where she attempted to escape the car, while a witness viewed the ordeal and was able to get her away.

The emotionally-charged reaction of Mikella's family and supporters as her mother confirmed her safety to a crowd was caught on video by Hawaii News Now.
Hawaiian Police announced in a statement that they had captured suspect Duncan Mahi in Hilo with officials initially describing Mahi as a 52-year-old man who stands at 5ft 11in and weighs around 215lbs.
The 52-year-old was last seen on Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo at roughly 11.24am and according to police, may be driving a 2011 White Honda CRV with the Hawaii license plate ZAE959.
Mahi's capture and arrest comes after Mikella was allegedly kidnapped at knifepoint on Saturday (September 17) at a beach in Anaehoomalu Bay while spending time with her boyfriend.

Mikella's aunt Lauren told Hawaii News Now that her niece and her boyfriend were situated at a beach when a suspect had approached them.
She said: “He had my niece tie up her boyfriend, blindfold him, and then took her.”
She added that police were able to detect a signal from the 15-year-old's phone near Kona airport which is about 20 miles away.
A bag with her dress inside was also found nearby as police said they are still investigating this incident.
