Huge brawl breaks out at Newmarket races as thugs fight each other and security

Some horrifying footage has been doing the rounds online of a huge brawl that broke out at Newmarket races this weekend.

The video that's been shared thousands of times on Twitter shows the explosive moment a man picks up a table to use as a weapon after a fight broke out at the racecourse in Suffolk.

Another man can be seen with blood on his top as another angry lad punches one of the many crowding security guards desperately attempting to break up the chaos.

It is understood that the fight started in the betting ring and then poured into the packed bar, MailOnline reports.

The racegoer filming the event described the fighters as "nasty thugs" and said the ordeal ruined a family day out.

"It was even worse out the front," they wrote.

"Felt so bad for the security, so many people involved and totally outnumbered. People picking up furniture and using as weapons; glasses thrown – really nasty," they added

There were reportedly no arrests after the vicious breakout.

A Newmarket racecourse spokesperson said: "There was an isolated disturbance after racing had concluded, which was quickly dealt with by security.
