BREAKING: M25 chaos as 12-mile queues hit Dartford Crossing after huge diesel spill

The anticlockwise carriageway was shut between junctions 31 and 30 around three hours ago.

It remains shut, as services work on the spillage.

Tailbacks are reported to be 12 miles long, with the road running through Dartford Crossing currently shut.

Traffic is being taken off the motorway at junction 31, before rejoining at junction 30.

One motorist fumed: “Been sitting on the M25 for almost two hours, mostly static, mostly with my engine off.

“Having made all the phone calls I can, I am now reading MSc papers for a set meeting next week. Not quite how I saw my Friday panning out.”
