Emmerdale fans have seen how upset Wendy Posner (played by Susan Cookson) has been as of late. This is because of the arrival of Russ (Rob Jarvis) but who is he and what does he want from her? Here’s everything you need to know about the new arrival in the ITV soap.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Emmerdale.
Who is Russ in Emmerdale?
Recently, Wendy attended the funeral of her ex-mother-in-law to pay her respects.
Unfortunately, this led to her ex-husband Russ showing up to pay her a visit.
He is fuming that his mum left all of her money to Victoria’s (Isobel Hodgins) baby Harry and demands that Wendy and him talk about it.
She is anxious from the very start and it is soon discovered that Russ has a criminal past.
Going by Russ’ bullying behaviour, it is clear that he was an abusive partner who coerced Wendy into getting his own way.
Nothing has changed either as he is back and demanding the inheritance he feels is rightfully his.
Wendy eventually introduces him to Victoria as Harry’s grandad, much to her surprise.
Russ says that he wants to be part of their lives and Wendy is pushed into backing him on this.
Wendy continues to beg Russ to leave Emmerdale behind and leave Victoria alone.
He does agree to do so, but only if she says that she will get him the money.
Wendy accepts this after Russ threatens Victoria’s life, stating there would be consequences if he didn’t get the cash soon.
Things go from bad to worse though when Wendy sees her family getting along with her ex-husband.

Victoria and Bob try to make the most of Russ being in the village since he said he cannot stay for long.
So they decide to try and get to know him a bit better by spending some “quality time” with him.
He continues to try and get on Victoria’s good side at the playground, pretending to be the doting grandad.
She appears to be falling for his act as well as he seems to be there to make an effort with his long-lost family.
Russ even attempts to make her feel sorry for him by saying how little money he has.
But how far is Russ willing to go and will Wendy tell Victoria what’s really going on?
Only time will tell if Russ is going to get his way in the end or if Victoria’s life is in jeopardy.
Emmerdale is available to watch on ITV.
