Vicky Pattison details difficult but empowering decision to freeze her eggs

Vicky Pattison has opened up about the empowering decision to freeze her eggs on Lorraine.

The 34 year old appeared on the show to discuss her new book, The Secret to Happy, which highlights the highs and lows of her life in the limelight.

Lorraine, 62, asked Vicky about her decision to freeze her eggs, which she discusses in her new self-help book.

During Thursday's show, she said: “You’re even talking about freezing your eggs, just to give yourself that option and that choice, which makes sense doesn’t it.”

Vicky admitted that it had been a difficult decision to make and she “put it off” for as long as she could.

She explained: “Do you know what for ages I’ve put it off Lorraine, as in my head if I froze me eggs, it was me saying I’m not going to have kids anytime soon.

“I’m 34 and like I would really love a family, so I think that was a difficult pill for us to swallow.”

However, the former Geordie Shore star realised that actually this was an “empowering” choice that gives her more options in the future.

“I had to sit myself down and talk to myself and say you’re not saying that at all," she said.

“You’re making this really empowering decision for like your future self.

“Ercan is slightly younger than me, 28, and I want us both to be in the right place for us to have a family. I don’t want him to have kids with me because I’m terrified of some ticking biological body clock, you know?

“So, I am starting that process very soon, because I think it’s the best thing for me and future me.”

Vicky’s self-help book on happiness also includes how she overcame her “dark” days after she won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

The reality tv star admitted she struggled with imposter syndrome after being crowned Queen of the Jungle and self-medicated with alcohol.

Vicky revealed to The Sun that she was drinking up to ten drinks a day, as she added: “I drank pretty much every day. I would have about ten drinks a day. Wine, spirits, anything really.

“I had everything I ever wanted. The public liked us, I’d left behind Geordie Shore and I had this new shiny career, but I was convinced that people would realise I wasn’t anything special and it would all be taken away.”
