Tobey Maguire Spider-Man No Way Home return ‘stressed’ Tom Holland ‘I was nervous for you’

There’s been so many rumours over the past year that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would return as their Peter Parkers in Spider-Man: No Way Home and incredibly that’s exactly what happened. Both Tom Holland and The Amazing Spider-Man star have had interviews over the last few months in which they had to dodge questions of the trio teaming up. But now the cat’s out the bag, the MCU Web Slinger and MJ star Zendaya have shared how stressful stepping on set with the original Spider-Man actor was.

Speaking with, both Holland and Zendaya said how Maguire was “so funny” and “so cool” on Spider-Man: No Way Home’s set.

The MCU Spider-Man actor said: “He was really excited to be back. You could tell it really meant a lot to him. Him putting the suit on again. Us getting back together. It was awesome.”

The MJ actress remembered the first day Maguire was on set and said she was nervous on behalf of Holland.

Her co-star replied with complete honestly: “Yeah, I was stressed.”

Zendaya shared how during the rehearsal she and Ned star Jacob Batalon felt like Holland’s parents.

She said: “[It was] like dropping you off at kindergarten for the first day. Like, ‘I hope the other kids like him.’

“And like, ‘I hope he doesn’t come back crying.’ And so we were just there, and I was taking pictures of you guys so that you could have it. It was so cute.”

The MJ star managed to capture some amazing behind-the-scenes photos of the three Peter Parkers, which she’s yet to share.

Zendaya added: “But yeah, he was so lovely and hilarious. Unintentionally, sometimes.”

On Garfield’s return as The Amazing Spider-Man, Holland said: “Andrew Garfield, the legend himself. He’s such a lovely guy.

“I think this film was his way of making peace with Spider-Man. It was such a privilege to work with him. I know that it meant a lot to him.”

His MJ co-star went on to speak of the three Spider-Man actors teaming up together with much warmth.

Holland compared it to a Spider-Man “brotherhood” and Zendaya said: “It was so beautiful. [Tobey, Andrew, and Tom] care so deeply about the characters, and what their characters — what their journey had been as Spider-Man.

“It was so beautiful to see all of you guys connect on that and be able to talk to each other about such a special experience that very few people have been able to don the suit.

“It was great to see how much you guys all really cared and had each other’s back. It was really sweet.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home is out now in cinemas.
