This Morning's vet Scott Miller fights back tears as he opens up about death of his 14-year-old dog

THIS Morning's vet Scott Miller fought back tears as he opens up about the death of his 14-year-old dog.

The vet was on This Morning helping out callers with all their pet problems.

However, at the end Rochelle gave her condolences about his dog Betty, who sadly passed away earlier this week.

Rochelle said: "And Scott I just wanted to say I'm so sorry to hear about your lovely Betty."

However, the animal doctor started to get emotional and was forced to fight back tears as he spoke about his pet.

Scott said: "Thanks guys yeah, I've had a tough couple of days saying goodbye to my very special dog.

"Yes, thank you to everyone who's been sending me messages. She's been with me for fourteen years.

"As a vet it's really hard to say goodbye to your own dog. But she's like one of my kids, so, yeah, it's been tough for me."

Rochelle then replied: "Sending you a massive hug."

This Morning Fans sent the vet messages of support, with one person said: "Poor Dr Scott. That news of his dog passing away caught me off guard. Bless him. #ThisMorning"

Another added: "ThisMorning Aw Dr Scott , that made me cry , so sorry for the loss of your lovely dog x"

A third remarked: "My heart truly goes out to @drscottym he's so broken up about his beloved doggy I could feel myself welling up watching him. It hurts so much losing a dog and I wish him well. RIP to his beautiful pooch #thismorning"

Scott shard a photo of Betty after her death on his Instagram as he wrote an emotional post next to it.

The pic shows Betty in the forest, sitting nicely with her lead on.

He captioned it: "I had to say goodbye to my beautiful friend of 14 years this evening, and my heart is broken. Betty I love you so much and am so grateful to have had you in my life. Run free my beautiful girl…I will love you forever xx"
