The Chase star Anne Hegerty brands her co-stars ‘evil’ as they compare her to Cruella De Vil

THE Chase star Anne Hegerty has branded her co-stars as "evil" after they compared her to Disney villain Cruella De Vil.

The quizzing master took to Twitter to hit back at her fellow Chasers after she was missing from a Beat The Chasers line-up.

Anne, 63, reposted a video clip from the most recent episode of the ITV spin-off show, hosted by Bradley Walsh.

In the clip, her co-stars Darragh Ennis and Paul Sinha joked around comparing her to the iconic Disney villain.

"Still no Anne?" Bradley, 61, could be heard asking, as Paul'The Sinnerman' replied: "We don't know where she is.

"Our only clue is that her 101 Dalmatians have gone missing as well."

Darragh chimed in: "We can get her back whenever we want. You just look in a mirror and say her name three times."

The 'Governess' Anne reposted the video to her Twitter fans as she bashed her co-stars for being "evil" towards her.

"My colleagues are evil," she wrote alongside a number of laughing emojis, encouraging her following to watch the show at 9pm.

It comes after Anne shut down an anti-vaxxer after she battled Covid when he asked why she was missing from the show.

Chasers Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha and Darragh Ennis were ready and waiting to take on a new batch of contestants on Monday.

But Anne – aka The Governess – was noticeably absent from her seat.

Anne was in fact missing from The Chase's spin-off show Beat The Chasers due to Covid.

The star caught coronavirus and had to self-isolate when the mini-series was being filmed, meaning she had to pull out.

Star of The Chase Australia Issa Schultz, aka Super Nerd, was then brought in to fill Anne's empty chair.

Taking to Twitter, fans admitted they were puzzled as to the 63-year-old star's whereabouts, with Anne replying to one personally, telling him: "Fraid I wasn’t on this series – I didn’t start testing negative until we’d nearly finished."

The fan turned out to be an anti-vaxxer, replying: "Covid-19 is nothing but a mild virus, if any symptoms at all.
