Tasha St Patrick (played by Naturi Naughton) was represented by deceitful lawyer Davis Maclean (Method Man) in the first season of Power Book II: Ghost. The show’s latest casting news has now confirmed the Starz series’ next outing will finally expand on Maclean’s troubled family life as a ghost from his past comes back to haunt him.

Nineties music legend and Def Squad co-founder Reggie “Redman” Noble will be joining the cast of Power Book II’s second season as the brother of Davis Maclean (played by Method Man).

The rapper and record producer was first tipped to portray Theo Rollins back in September, when Courtney Kemp revealed her hopes to reunite the rap duo on screen.

She told TVLine at the time: “My dream is to get Redman to do it. That’s my dream… but I don’t know yet. We haven’t gotten there yet.”

Maclean’s older brother is speculated to serve as a minor antagonist for the new season, potentially hatching a scheme to take revenge from his prison cell.

Now the show’s latest stellar casting call has been confirmed, with Redman set to debut as Maclean’s incarcerated brother at some point in season two.

Theo is briefly mentioned in the Power spin-off’s first season when Maclean recalls representing his own brother in court.

Unfortunately, it appears the case ended badly for the two brothers, as Theo is currently behind bars.

An official character description revealed: “Theo Rollins used to run the streets with his little brother, Davis MacLean.

“They both know, had the past played out differently, Davis could be locked up alongside his big brother, but Theo questions if the guilt’s enough for Davis to keep his promise.”

The hotshot lawyer is currently riding high after successfully defending Tasha for the murder of her husband, James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (Omari Hardwick).

Maclean frequently butted heads with the true culprit, Ghost’s son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr).

However, the latest update from the set of the popular Starz drama indicates Maclean’s own brother could cause him more trouble when Book II returns for its second season.

Theo’s official description certainly suggests he knows a secret or two about his younger sibling that could easily knock him down a peg or two.

Meanwhile, the casting news was also confirmed by the stars themselves in a recent Twitter post from behind the scenes.

The show’s official Twitter account posted: “Power fam, ya’ll ain’t ready for this. Check out this special announcement from @MethodMan @therealredman.”

In the short backstage clip, Redman joins his frequent collaborator from off camera to announce his special guest appearance.

While hip hop fans will be thrilled to see the duo together again on-screen, the two close friends could dramatically switch up their dynamic to play bitter rivals in the next season of Power.

Redman may be joining the cast from behind bars for the time being, but Maclean may have escaped Tariq’s wrath only to meet his downfall at the hands of his vengeful older brother.

Method Man and Redman have been making music together since the late 90s, collaborating on the classic Def Jam album, Blackout!

They recently appeared together in Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, and released the single Bad Name (Remix) with Gang Starr in 2020.

Power Book II is available to watch on Starz and Starzplay.
