NCIS Los Angeles season 13 has been highly anticipated since season 12 came to an end back in May and fans are eager to settle down on Sunday night to watch the drama. It is being shown as part of an action-packed night on the network, with SEAL Team season five also premiering minutes after the first episode of the CBS undercover show. Depending on where a viewer lives in America, the brand-new instalment will air at different times.

What time does NCIS Los Angeles season 13 start?

The show is staying in its Sunday night slot for season 13, which has also managed to stick to its season premiere schedule despite the challenges caused as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Entitled Subject 17, network bosses are hoping millions of fans will be tuning in to watch the show’s return after they renewed it back in April.

One of the big changes viewers will notice in the upcoming episodes is Hollace Kilbride (played by Gerald McRaney) has been promoted to a regular, putting him front and centre of a new storyline.

Grisha Callen (Chris O’Donnell) will be back as the Special Agent in charge of the team alongside the likes of Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), Fatima Namazi (Medalion Rahimi) and Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt).

To bring some life to Sunday evenings, NCIS Los Angeles has been given the primetime slot on CBS, airing just before SEAL Team.

This means fans will be able to tune in from 9pm Eastern Time and Pacific Time, with the new episode airing at 10pm Central Time.

At the moment, there is no word on when viewers in the UK will be able to watch the drama unfold at the Los Angeles branch.

It is hoped this will be the time slot the show will keep throughout the course of the season, although it’s not been confirmed how many episodes there will be.

Looking at previous seasons, it is hoped 18 to 20 episodes will be made available as season 12 was shortened as a result of the pandemic.

We have a few irons in the fire

What will happen in NCIS Los Angeles season 13 episode one?

With Hetty having returned at the end of season 12, she will be going head to head with Callen as he suspects her of keeping secrets about his past.

Amongst his own personal dramas, Callen will have to lead the team to track down an informant who has found themselves in a deadly situation.

The team leader will also have to face some affairs of the heart as his relationship with Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly).

Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill has teased this will be an ongoing plot, explaining there are still conversations about what the future will look like for them.

“We haven’t resolved how we want to end that. We have a few irons in the fire,” he explained in an interview with TV Line.

“With those sort of relationships, sometimes we give ourselves some options, play out the season and see what feels right,” he said.

They won’t be the only couple under the microscope as Deeks and Blye will also be concentrating a lot more on their life away from work as they begin to think about expanding their family.

The first four episodes have all been given titles but there is has been no announcement on what lies ahead for the team from October 31, 2021.

Has NCIS Los Angeles been renewed for season 14?

At the moment, there is no confirmation on whether there will be another season of the show as this news is usually given with regards to the current season’s viewing figures.

Therefore, it is unlikely fans will hear any confirmation on season 14 until the Spring of 2022, based on when season 13 was renewed.

There is also no reason for viewers to worry season 13 will be the last run of the show as the series is hugely popular across the world.

The network, CBS, is also holding on to shows with good to semi-good viewing figures, making it more likely the programme will stay on its schedule.

NCIS: Los Angeles season 13 premieres Sunday, October 10 on CBS.
