FANS of Love Island's Maura Higgins are so desperate to keep her on the TV screens, they've started a campaign for her to join I'm A Celebrity – with full backing from Maura's sister.
The 28 year-old Irish beauty is fresh from leaving the villa after finishing fourth in last night's final alongside her beau, Curtis Pritchard.
A Twitter account with the handle @superTV247 sent a direct message to ITV asking how many retweets it would take to send the ring girl and model down under and into the jungle reality show.
ITV replied with '10,000', sparking an official petition to get her into camp.
The campaign still has a way to go with only 580 retweets so far, but Maura's sister Becki Higgins revealed she'd love to see her sister in the jungle.
Speaking to Independent.Ie, Becki, 26, revealed: "
“I can’t see her coming back here – I’d say it will be London or somewhere else in England.
“There is so much lined up for her but I would love to see her on 'I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here', if I could pick for her. She would be terrified, but class on it – she’d be effing and blinding out of her.”
If Maura is successful, she could be following in the footsteps of other reality TV stars including Towie's Mark Wright, Joey Essex and Gemma Collins, MIC's Georgia Toffolo and Hugo Taylor – who have all taken part in the ITV show hosted by Ant and Dec.
Despite reaching last night's final, fans noticed that Maura appeared to be “raging” when the results were announced, with some guessing she may have rowed with Curtis.
She was described as looking a little “frosty” as she sat next to Curtis for their exit interview with Caroline Flack.
During her chat with Caroline, Maura surprised fans – and Curtis – when she revealed she initially fancied Michael the most in the villa.
“Michael was the guy I wanted to go for straight away when I went in,” Maura said.
Finishing in third place after Maura and Curtis was Ovie and India, followed by runners-up Molly Mae and Tommy.
Amber and Greg were crowned the winners – despite only being in a couple for 12 days – and scooped the £50,000 prize money.
