Following the footsteps of the original Australian version, Married At First Sight is returning to British screens for a sixth season. Ahead of the release of Monday’s episode, E4 released a trailer which could see Tayah’s mum boycott her wedding.
Married at First Sight is a bold social experiment, where two contestants will be coupled up and meet at the aisle for the first time.
With the help of experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson and Charlene Douglas, 16 single individuals were matched in a mission to find love.
Although it originated from Australia, one of the main differences is the marriage, here the couples won’t be forced into a legally binding marriage.
The shocking concept of the show is what made it become a worldwide phenomenon, with fans tuning in to see which couple will make it.
Throughout the series, viewers weren’t the only ones shocked, as the contestants would eventually have to reveal the upcoming marriage to their friends and family.
Understandably, the announcement they would be getting married to a complete stranger would often leave the contestants’ loved ones gobsmacked and in disbelief.
As the couple would officially meet at the altar for the first time, so would the family and friends.
However, during the new promo video, it looked as though Tayah’s mum might not show up to the wedding at all.
In the teaser clip, the bride-to-be was sitting in the car and being driven to her wedding, where she was asked if she was okay.
Visibly nervous Tayah responded: “Could be better and confessed, “I just hope my mums gonna be there.”
The next scene showed the seated wedding party which was packed, however, two seats at the front left completely unoccupied.
With the sight of Tayah hoping her mother would show up and the empty seats, it could be safe to say, she boycotted the wedding.
Tayah Victoria is a 25-year-old estate agent from Welwyn Garden City and hopes the competition will bring her a man she can look after.
She revealed she wants to find someone who takes care of themselves and will look good standing next to her.
Speaking on her husband-to-be personality, Tayah said she would like “a confident guy, someone who knows themselves and who has a bit of something about them.”
She opened up about her hopes and shared: “My happy ever after would be that I’ve always wanted to get married and wanted kids.
Tayah added: “I’ve always wanted to be a young mum. My end goal is to have that family and have that family unit. So that would be an ideal situation to come from this.”
It’s yet to be seen who she will be paired up with and if he will meet her expectations.
After the wedding, Tayah and her husband will jet off on honeymoon where they will get to know each other better.
Fans can expect tears, awkward moments, I do’s and hopefully Tayah’s mother on the next episode of Married At First Sight.
Married At First Sight UK will continue on Monday on E4 at 9pm.
