Ant and Dec arrived in camp with the dreaded news for the group, who were left stunned to say goodbye to the choreographer. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been disrupted somewhat this year, with extreme weather conditions forcing the last-minute cancellations of a few episodes. The first elimination wasn’t pushed back though, and on Sunday night Arlene found herself heading out of Gwrych Castle for the last time. As she discussed some campmates locking horns with each other, she admitted it had been “unnecessary”.

Entering the camp, presenters Ant and Dec went through the campmates one by one as usual, with Arlene and Snoochie being the two who faced the first elimination.

Upon hearing her name, Arline commented: “It’s my time, I’m going.”

She joined Ant and Dec for her exit interview, where she said she felt “relieved” and “emotional” before the hosts show the 78-year-old her castle highlights.

When questioned about the arguments which broke out, the dancer admitted some of the rifts between campmates were “unnecessary”.

Dec Donnelly asked Arlene how she was feeling as she took a seat opposite the two hosts to a welcoming glass of champagne.

“Oh my gosh, in a way relieved,” she admitted.

“You know I want to see my family, but emotional because of everything this has been and the highs and the lows.

“It’s been something in my life that I never imagined doing. And it has been extraordinary. What a two weeks.”

She went on to say the experience was “much harder” than she’d expected it to be.

Ant McPartlin asked: “Was it tough to keep morale high, especially when there were arguments over cooking the dinner?”

The former Strictly Come Dancing judge agreed:  “Yeah, I think you’re right.

“I tried to keep the chain strong – this group, this circle.

“And of course, it is hard when there’s arguments and sometimes those arguments was so unnecessary.”

She continued: “You know, and they’ve kind of calmed down because people have thought through why they argue and what makes them argue.

“And I know I’m leaving happily you know what I’m excited about? Is one of them will go on to win.”

Dec probed: “Who would you like to win – very quickly?”

“Oh that’s unfair,” she replied as Ant remarked: “One word!”

Eventually, Arlene answered: “It’s two – Naughty Boy.”

“Well, thank you very much,” Dec replied.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Monday at 9pm on ITV.
