Heartbroken Little Mix fans fear they'll be gone for good like One Direction after break announcement

HEARTBROKEN Little Mix fans fear they'll be gone for good like One Direction after the women announced their break.

The Sun exclusively told how the trio – Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall – would be revealing their hiatus before Little Mix broke the news last night.

They will go their separate ways after the conclusion of their Confetti tour next summer.

Megaband One Direction split in 2015 after Zayn took a break due to stress, mirroring Jesy Nelson's exit from Little Mix earlier this year.

The rest of 1D followed suit shortly after and the band broke up permanently.

Fans have now claimed Little Mix's announcement was history repeating itself, and took to Twitter in their droves.

One said: "They both lost a band member. And the news is saying that's little mix 'will be taking a break '. I've heard that before……."

Another said: "Isnt that what one direction said 6 years ago? </3 #LittleMix"

And one more begged: "Little mix pls don’t pull a one direction #LittleMix @LittleMix"

Accompanying a statement in which they thanked fans for their support over the past decade was a nostalgic video reflecting on their past.

Despite being in the group for nine of those years dating back to their formation on the X Factor, Jesy didn't feature at all.

She quit the band last December and has since gone on to launch a solo career, with first single Boyz debuting at number four in the UK.

The girls and Jesy are no longer on speaking terms after the surprise departure, and the rift was worsened when Jesy collaborator Nicki Minaj took aim at Leigh-Anne Pinnock in a controversial Instagram Live.

Announcing their break tonight in a statement on Instagram, they said : "We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix.

"It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.

"We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much.

"We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay 💫 We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more. We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever ♥️ See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x."

The girls' statement moved fans to tears with some claiming this marked the end for the group.

One posted: "Well sometimes you see things coming. Then they arrive and it still hurts."

Another said: "going to cry tonight I'm so sad but excited for the next project and adventure."

Both Perrie and Leigh-Anne became first time parents in the summer, with Perrie welcoming a boy called Axel and Leigh-Anne had twins although has kept their names and gender a secret.
