Good Morning Britain fans blast show as they moan it’s not covering news enough

A number of Good Morning Britain viewers have been left asking for more "real news" after tuning in to the ITV show on Monday.

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid spoke of a number of big headlines, including the Formula 1 crash which saw Romain Grosjean escape from his fireball of a car, and university students being offered rapid Covid-19 tests to allow them to go home to their families for Christmas.

However viewers have been asking them to cover "real news", taking to Twitter to slam the show.

One Good Morning Britain viewer said: "Where is the real news?"

Another replied: "Real news is on the BBC or Sky this is a celeb show."

A third tweeted: "Students being offered Covid tests. Thrilling stuff. Any news apart from racing crash?"

Someone else said: "Isn't police arresting 150 news? I want to know what's happening not what you choose to report on."

While another added: "News this morning. Rubbish. What about shops crashing. We're in Covid and it's all about Mars and cars. Are the researchers on holiday?"
