Coronation Street to pay tribute to Jack and Vera in touching Fiz and Tyrone wedding moment | The Sun

CORONATION Street will pay a touching tribute to Jack and Vera as Tyrone and Fiz prepare to marry.

Fans of the ITV soap recently saw Tyrone get down on one knee and pop the question to Fiz.

And the mechanic is wasting no time as he secretly plans a Christmas Day wedding.

The festive scenes set to air are 'full of warmth' according to the show's boss.

"A few years ago we went a bit Die Hard with the Gary Windass and the funfair story, which I absolutely loved.

"This year it's got loads of comedy, family fun, loads of warmth," Iain MacLeod said.

With Fiz and Tyrone being dubbed the modern day Jack and Vera, both Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine have spoken about being compared to the soap legends.

"It's something I shy away from as much as a possibility can," Alan told The Sun.

"For me, Jack and Vera was out there on their own. I think they are absolutely brilliant. I'd like to be the Tyrone and Fiz."

Jennie echoed Alan's comments as she added: "Equally, it's always so lovely to be asked that and the fact that they are always remembered through Tyrone's history with them and there's a picture of them up in their house and we've still got their bar.
