HBO Max has secured the streaming rights to The Big Bang Theory in the US, after pinching Friends from Netflix US too.
Ahead of the streaming platform’s launch in spring 2020, HBO has announced The Big Bang Theory will have its home on the platform for five years, in a deal which also extends the syndication deal between Warner Bros. Television and TBS to 2028.
According to Variety, the streaming rights deal is believed to be worth around $600 million (£481 million), while The Hollywood Reporter claims it could be upwards of $1 billion (£802 million) with the TBS syndication aspect.
In a statement, Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment, said: ‘We’re thrilled that HBO Max will be the exclusive streaming home for this comedy juggernaut when we launch in the spring of 2020.
‘This show has been a hit virtually around the globe, it’s one of the biggest shows on broadcast television of the last decade, and the fact that we get to bring it to a streaming platform for the first time in the US is a coup for our new offering.’
It’s important to note this is only the US streaming rights, with Netflix UK still streaming the sitcom on our shores for the time being.
This follows a number of landmark deals as streaming services compete to overthrow their rivals, with HBO Max reportedly paying $425 million (£340 million) to reclaim the rights for Friends from Netflix, while NBC Universal reportedly dished out $500 million for the rights to The Office.
Netflix has reportedly paid around $500 million (£400 million) to secure the rights to Seinfeld.
The Big Bang Theory came to an end after twelve seasons in May this year, and considering it was the biggest TV show on the box, it’s unsurprising the deal is worth such a staggering amount.
But will Netflix be able to maintain its streaming crown as other competitors join the field? With Disney+ and Apple TV Plus also on the horizon, the streaming war is only just beginning.
The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix UK.
It only took a year for Hannah Brown to go from “normal girl” to “star” on Dancing With The Stars. She says, sometimes, she can’t even believe how much her life has changed, and so quickly.
“A year ago I was still living in Alabama… [I] did not ever think my life would be this. That I’m considered a star on Dancing With the Stars, like, a year ago that would have never been anything in my wildest dreams,” she recently told Entertainment Tonight. “I am just a normal girl that has been kind of thrust into this life, and continuing to own that and be an example.”
Brown’s entering her Dancing With The Stars journey after suffering a major heartbreak. During her season finale of The Bachelorette, she got engaged to contestant Jed Wyatt. But when she discovered he had come on the show with a girlfriend, she ended their relationship.
Brown says she’s ready to regain her “strength” by doing Dancing With The Stars.
“This whole journey for me is about kind of regaining the strength that I’ve had and through everything that I’ve been going through the past few months, to just take back control again and learn more things about myself,” she said. “It’s a lot more than just dancing, this whole journey. And I’ve definitely learned that.”
The hardest part of being a ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant for Hannah Brown
The hardest part of being a Dancing With The Stars contestant isn’t the physical toll on Brown’s body, but that part’s pretty challenging, too.
“My feet are destroyed. Like, they are disgusting! They stink so bad… and they look really terrible,” she said. “And my back hurts pretty bad, just because I’m not used to holding myself up this way and doing these dips and these legs lifts and stuff. So, my whole body hurts really bad but you know what? It’s all worth it maybe. I hope.”
The most challenging part, for Hanah Brown, is the “mental stuff.”
“For me, [the hardest part is] all mental stuff,” she said. “I’m picking up the steps… [but] I stand in my way sometimes of really performing, and I think that is going to be part of my journey. This whole experience is really just allowing myself to breathe and dance freely, and be confident in this new venture.”
Hannah Brown isn’t focused on dating ‘at all’ right now
As for her dating life, Brown says she’s fully focusing on herself right now.
“Definitely these dances can make me feel confident and make me feel sexy and desirable, but I think that’s more for myself and to know that I am all those things,” Brown said, adding that she’s not focused on her love life “at all” at the moment.
“When I really truly feel that way every single day, then it comes the time to really focus on my love life — or if somebody just comes in my life unexpectedly, then I’ll be better than before for them,” she continued.

MORE than a decade after they announced they were going on a hiatus to pursue solo music projects, the Pussycat Dolls are reforming.
Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta and Nicole Scherzinger will be reuniting for a worldwide tour pencilled in for 2020.
A source close to the US group said: “Nicole has long turned down offers for a reunion but with the ten-year anniversary of their hiatus passing, she finally said she was ready.
“Nicole was made a multi-million pound offer to re-join the group and was given a huge advance which made it impossible for her to turn down.”
But what has the world’s most provocative band been up to in their time apart?
Here Fabulous Digital looks back at their solo careers.
There is no denying that Nicole has had the most successful run since the band disbanded.
She’s proved herself as a global success, scooping victory on Dancing With The Stars in the US, and joining the judging panel on The X Factor UK.
Her singing career has continued to blossom, as she reached No.1 in the UK charts for her song Don’t Hold Your Breath.
She has also added acting to her arsenal and was nominated for an Olivier Award after playing Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s revival of Cats on the West End stage.
In 2016 the Hawaiian star landed the role of Sina in the wildly popular Disney movie Moana.
She featured in ABC’s 2017 adaptation of Dirty Dancing playing the role of Penny Johnson.
She most recently joined the Australia’s Got Talent as a guest judge.
According to reports the talented star now has a net worth of $12 million (£9.6 million.)
Her endorsements include Herbal Essences, Missguided, British Airways, Muller and Proactive.
She also launched her own fragrance, Chosen earlier this year.
In 2017, she opened up about her bulimia battle, telling Cosmopolitan: "When I got The Pussycat Dolls, it really amplified [my eating disorder] because it had so much to do with showing your body off."
Got some sweet news! I'm going to be playing Dawn in @WaitressLondon from 17th June. Yasss to some comedy singing and dancing fun!! Can’t wait! Hope to see you there 🥧#WaitressLondon @waitresslondon #westend

It was here she met current flame Giovanni Pearce, confirming their romance over the Christmas period.
But Ashley's solo singing career failed to flourish as much as her television roles.
In 2014, she released her debut album, Butterfly Effect, which only reached number 159 in the UK album chart.
Over the summer she took to the stage, appearing in the musical Waitress for eight-weeks. She also presents the Heart breakfast show alongside Amanda Holden.
Carmit Bachar was one of the main vocalists and was famous before joining the Pussycat Dolls.
The 45-year-old had danced on stage with Beyoncé and was the Vida Loca girl for Ricky Martin.
Since quitting the band in 2008, Carmit has focused on her music career.
She formed LadyStation in 2011 and released a single called Body In Motion, and ended 2018 with the release of a new single It’s Time.
Carmit also collaborated with Macy Gray in 2010 in her album, The Sellout.
The redhead, who is mum to daughter Keala Rose, is a passionate campaigner for cleft-palate charities.
She suffered from the condition herself as a child.
In 2010, Jessica left the Pussycat Dolls to embark on her solo career.
The same year, she released her first single I Wanna Be Bad, which was accompanied by a music video directed by Frank E. Flowers.
Sadly, the 37-year-old didn’t win the public over with her tune – it failed to chart anywhere but Slovakia, where it peaked at 65.
Luckily, Jessica’s second single Show Me gained a bit more success reaching number 1 in the US Billboard charts for Hot Dance Club Songs.
Jessica, who recently performed at Washington Pride, married her husband Mikey Marquet over the weekend.
Dog The Bounty Hunter has been taken to hospital following what may be a heart attack, according to reports.
The TV personality, real name Duane Chapman, is currently resting following the ‘heart emergency’.
He was hospitalised over the weekend suffering from reported heart attack symptoms that may require surgery.
Reps for the bounty hunter have since confirmed to Metro.co.uk he’s resting up.
‘I can confirm Dog is under doctor’s care and is resting comfortably,’ they said this evening.
‘Thank you for all of your well wishes- keep ’em coming.’
Sources told TMZ ‘the reality TV star was taken to a hospital from his home in Colorado after feeling a pain in his chest.
‘They’re also trying to figure out if he will need a corrective surgery.’
They went on to claim he suffered a ‘possible heart attack’ and is awaiting test results.
The emergency dash comes just months after Duane’s beloved wife Beth Chapman died following a battle with cancer, aged 51 in June.
Her passing has been incredibly hard on Dog, who revealed he’d lost a substantial amount of weight due to the stress of his loss.
Speaking about the toll Beth’s death took on him, the 66-year-old said he dropped ’17 pounds in two weeks’, having lost his appetite as he dealt with his grief.
‘I can’t eat. Two bites, I’m full,’ he said.
‘I got to force-feed myself like I force-fed her.’
He then opened up on not being able to watch Beth’s battle in the latest series of their TV show, Dog’s Most Wanted.
This season chronicles Beth’s battle with throat and lung cancer right up until the day before she died.
Duane, who was married to Beth for 13 years, previously told TMZ: ‘She shared her life and her passing with her fans.’
He went on: ‘Usually my production company goes over the first cut and then we make suggestions. This time I didn’t get involved.
‘It was a little too hard. I’m going to be watching it like everyone else for the first time.’
Duane admitted he starts to feel overwhelmed before the show has even begun. ‘I don’t know what to say until I see it. Even the commercials get to me,’ he admitted.

THERE'S a new Instagram pose taking over online and unlike other trends you might have spotted on social media, you really do NOT want to try this one at home.
The daft pose sees celebrities and influencers risking their safety to secure the perfect Instagram snap, by standing in the middle of the road.
The utterly bonkers idea is loved by reality TV stars especially, with the likes of Montana Brown, Yewande Biala and Megan Barton Hanson all taking to the streets in the name of style.
Montana can even be seen dancing in the road while Megan looked relaxed as she posed – despite approaching traffic.
Last year's Love Island contestant Kendall Rae Knight even matched her satin yellow dress to the road markings, while Lissy Roddy didn't even bother to look out for traffic as she posed with her head down at a junction.
And queen of poses Kylie Jenner was even spotted pushing a pram in the road – although she DID stay close to the pavement, just in case.
Some celebs have taken on the pose in a slightly safer manner, with the likes of Louise Thompson, Kady McDermott, Courtney Green and Charlotte Dawson all stopping to take snaps on the zebra crossing.
And while it might not be fun for the waiting traffic, it's slightly more sensible.
Love Island's Kaz Crossley also decided not to brave standing in the road – as she posed on Oxford Street – taking to the central pavement instead.
Meanwhile, Gemma Collins looked utterly fearless as she struck a classic GC pose in the middle of the street.
Please, do NOT try this at home (and by home we mean in the middle of the road).
In other celebrity news, we told you about the filthy new fashion trend that sees Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Molly-Mae Hague wear clothes that look like a bin bag.
We also revealed shoppers are already flogging Meghan’s Smart Works dress on eBay for THREE TIMES the price – even though it’s still in stock.
And we told you Huda Kattan won’t let daughter, 8, wear make-up like Katie Price or Kerry Katona’s kids as she’ll look ‘too sexy’ – despite £1bn beauty empire.
Netflix released the first half of the fourth and final season of The Ranch over the weekend. Ever since then fans have been swarming with questions.
Some have wondered whether Debra Winger will return to the series as it closes the doors. Others are bothered by the extremely ambiguous finale to Part 7.
But one question fans are still contemplating is the likelihood of Danny Masters as Rooster returning to the show. Will he come back to The Ranch?
Let’s reexamine the troubled history and ponder the possibilities of a Rooster resurgence.
Will Danny Masterson return to The Ranch?
Unfortunately for viewers of Netflix’s The Ranch, Danny Masterson was fired back in December of 2017 from the show amidst heart-wrenching allegations of sexual abuse according to TVLine.
Not only did Masterson play the role of Rooster, but he also held the honorable role of executive producer, until he did some dishonorable things that caused him to lose the coup of both title and character.
Vanity Fair goes on to write that the women who have pointed a finger at Masterson have gone on to file suit against not only Masterson, but the Church of Scientology for refusing to acknowledge what the actor was doing, and leaving them vulnerable to his abuse.
Masterson has chosen to sue the women in return, calling the lawsuit, “ridiculous.” The Hollywood Reporter says one victim of his abuse refuses to back down. Chrissie Carnell Bixler alleges that he would force her to have sex even if she didn’t want to, and would become physical if he was denied.
All three of the women accusing Masterson have similarly heartbreaking stories, everyone claiming to be in some way able to truly consent to sex when he chose to attack them, be it from drinking, sleeping or even being unconscious.
The actor told USA Today none of these accusations are true, but the remarkable likenesses in each of the victims’ stories were enough to cause Netflix concerns.
That said, he is determined to beat these allegations the legal way, and prove that he is not the man these four women insist he is. He will however not be returning to The Ranch as he was fired when the women came forward.
So what happened to Danny Masterson’s character Rooster on The Ranch after Masterson was fired? Many thought Rooster just up and vanished after getting a murderous threat from Nick.
Soon it becomes clear that rather than a simple disappearance, Rooster will not be coming back because he was riding a motorcycle which he crashed, and supposedly went to his death.
Some, including his brother Colt, remain in a state of grief that refuses to acknowledge he is actually gone. Rather, they cling to the sad belief that he is still alive and faked his own death out of fear of the real thing coming to pass at Nick’s hand.
The more research that Colt does, the more unlikely this far-fetched, grief rooted theory seems, as Rooster has not been seen for quite a while. Police have agreed to find Rooster’s body in an effort to bring closure to the family.
In a poignant moment, Colt discovers a present from Rooster with a sign inside and a onesie for his unborn daughter. This moment appears to be the closure Colt needed, and he is able to help his heartbroken family pick up the pieces, and even plan Rooster’s funeral.
So, sadly for Rooster fans, it’s unlikely Danny Masterson will appear on another episode of The Ranch again. As fans mourn Rooster’s onscreen death, they may have to mourn the end of Danny Masterson’s career as they know it.
In an era synonymous with #MeToo and Harvey Weinstein, Hollywood producers and directors aren’t messing around when it comes to allegations of sexual abuse, and the Netflix platform is no exception. Just ask Kevin Spacey.
Whether Masterson can salvage what is left of his career remains to be seen, but what is for sure, is that his career on Netflix and his association with The Ranch are long gone for the moment.
A SERIES of drone attacks on the world's largest oil plant in Saudi Arabia are set to send petrol prices in the UK soaring amid drastic cuts to supply.
But who launched the attacks that experts claim are the "equivalent of 9/11" to the global oil industry, and what happened?
Who launched the drone attacks?
Fires raged at at an oil plant in Abqaiq, Bugayg, and the country's second largest oilfield in Khurais after Tehran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen fired a flurry of rockets.
Giant plumes of thick black smoke could be seen coming from the oil facility.
A military spokesperson for the Yemeni rebels claimed responsibility for the strike on Saudi Arabia's state-owned oil giant, Aramco.
But the US shared what it claims is new evidence, including satellite photos, "proving" Iran is to blame for the attacks.
The photos show what officials said were at least 19 points of impact at two Saudi energy facilities, including damage at the heart of the crucial oil processing plant at Abqaiq.
Officials said the photos show impacts consistent with the attack coming from the direction of Iran or Iraq, rather than from Yemen to the south.
Trump said he is waiting on Riyadh to determine who launched the strikes before proceeding on a course of action.
"Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked," he tweeted.
"There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!"
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said there was no evidence the attacks came from Yemen and accused Iran of "an unprecedented attack on the world's energy supply."
Pompeo urged overnight: “We call on all nations to publicly and unequivocally condemn Iran’s attacks.
“The United States will work with our partners and allies to ensure that energy markets remain well supplied and Iran is held accountable for its aggression.”
Attacks on two plants at the heart of the kingdom's oil industry knocked out more than half of Saudi crude output.
Houthi rebels in neighbouring Yemen yesterday claimed responsibility for the pre-dawn drone strikes.
The assault follows earlier cross-border attacks on Saudi oil installations and on oil tankers in Gulf waters.
Prices could even spike to as high as $100(£80) per barrel if Saudi Arabia fails to quickly resume oil supply lost after attacks over the weekend, it is claimed.
Andrew Lipow, of consultants Lipow Oil Associates, predicted a 5p rise per litre of petrol and added: “This is a big deal.”

Estranged wife Paulina Porizkova found him ‘unconscious and unresponsive’
The pair announced they had split-up in May 2018 after 28 years of marriage

The lead singer of The Cars has died at the age of 75 after being found ‘unconscious and unresponsive’ in his Manhattan townhouse.
Ric Ocasek was discovered by estranged wife Paulina Porizkova at around 4.14pm inside his Gramercy Park home in New York, Page Six reported.
The frontman was pronounced dead at the scene and appeared to have died from natural causes.
An NYPD spokesperson told DailyMail.com that Ocasek was 75 years old at the time he died, other reports have suggested he was 70.

The emotional footage showed severely malnourished and emaciated children and parents while the synth pop-rock track played beneath it. The video was later replayed at Live 8 in 2005.
The band broke up in the late 80s when Ocasek embarked on a solo career.
After a long hiatus until 2011, The Cars released a new album called ‘Move Like This.’

ThePioneer Woman star Ree Drummond has a following that just keepsgrowing. Here’s why people love the Food Network cook so much.
Fans like Ree Drummond’s easy-going nature
Following a new recipe can be intimidating, but fans say Drummond takes the anxiety out of cooking. The Food Network star doesn’t think it’s necessary to cook everything perfectly, and her fans love that about her. Drummond says it’s important to have fun and just relax when you’re making meals at home. She told Today she adopted Ina Garten and Bobby Flay’s laid-back attitude. “They just have the attitude that I tend to have when I cook,” said Drummond. “Just throw this in and throw that in and you don’t have to be so precise all the time. Just make it. Enjoy what you’re doing and love the people you’re making it for.”
One recurring statement among fans is that Drummond makesfood they know their family will eat and enjoy. In a 2017 Thrillistarticle, the interviewer met a group of tourists during her trip to Pawhuska,Oklahoma. One of the women in the group saidDrummond is a lifesaver because it takes a lot of effort to get food, so it’snecessary for her to cook meals at home. She’s grateful for Drummond becauseshe gets a lot of recipe ideas from her shows and cookbooks. “I have to drivenearly an hour to get to a real grocery store,” the woman told Thrillist.“That’s why I like Ree, she is just like me. She has to cook all of her meals.”Another fan agreed, saying she likes the food Drummond prepares. “And she makesreal food,” she added.
Ree Drummond is popular because she has easy recipes and useful products
Fans say Drummond has helped them put together recipes theirwhole family loves. One fan on Reddit praised Drummond for having easy recipesand a variety of products at the grocery store. The fan also said she learned alot from The Pioneer Woman show:
Most people must love her because (at least at my grocery store) she’s got product everywhere! Salad dressing, BBQ sauce, pasta sauce, and now frozen foods. Sometimes, she is bland to watch, but I remind myself that she wasn’t/isn’t made for TV. For me, she is a bit more of a homemade cook than the lovely Sandra Lee, but still lets me cut corners like Sandra Lee. Her recipes are pretty easy, family friendly, and often freezer friendly. This mama needs stuff like that, ha ha! So, I’ll deal with the bad acting and forced lines just so I can get more sheet pan recipes out of her.
