WWE star Wade Barrett has revealed he'd make an in-ring return for a Battle of the Brits showdown with 'old friend' Drew McIntyre.
The 40-year-old, real name Stu Bennett, made a shock return to Vince McMahon’s company as an NXT commentator last month.
The man famed for his deliverance of "Bad News" has not appeared in a WWE ring since his 2016 release and and hasn't wrestled full-time since.
Yet Barrett has admitted there is one match that could finally tempt him into stepping back inside the squared-circle.
The Lancashire-born grappler revealed his comeback opponent would have to be his 'old friend' and current WWE Champion McIntyre.
He told Digital Spy: "In truth if I was to come back as a full-time in-ring guy, I really would be chasing the sunset of my career.
That title is now held by an old friend of mine, Drew McIntyre. So taking him on for that title is something that certainly might tempt me back for a match or two
"I don't think there's that many more years left in me.
"So the question is, what would I want to achieve? The only thing I didn't achieve in WWE that I always wanted to achieve was to become the WWE Champion, and that title is now held by an old friend of mine, Drew McIntyre.
"So taking him on for that title is something that certainly might tempt me back for a match or two."
Barrett hasn't wrestled since his WWE exit four years ago but recently insisted that he is not retired in any sense of the word.
He told the Wrestling Inc. Daily Podcast: "I am not retired in any sense of the word, in terms of pro wrestling.
"I love doing commentary, and I love working with NWA, as that's been a goal of mine, for a long time."
Bennett continued, "In terms of in-ring, maybe at some point; if the right place, the right time, the right offer, comes in.
"Then, I can see myself dusting off the boots…I might need some new trunks, as they might have gotten thrown out, but I still have the boots."
