Ravens’ Jimmy Smith robbed at gunpoint after being followed from airport

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith and his family were reportedly robbed at gunpoint after being followed from Los Angeles International Airport to their hotel on Tuesday night.

According to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, Smith and his family were unhurt in the incident.

The Ravens released a statement Friday saying, “We are aware of the situation involving Jimmy Smith. We have spoken with Jimmy and he and his family are safe.”

Smith, 32, has spent his entire 10-year career with the Ravens after being the team’s first-round pick in 2011 and recently signed a one-year extension to remain with the team next year.
