UFC star Julian Marquez appears to have bagged a date with popstar Miley Cyrus… only if he shaves her initials in his chest.
The Cuban-American fighter was full of confidence after blowing away Maki Pitolo inside one round at UFC 258 over the weekend.
And feeling in a romantic mood with Valentine's Day on Sunday, Marquez tried his luck.
Grabbing the mic in his post-match press conference, he said: "I’ve been waiting 31 months to get on this damn mic, and to call these people out right now.
“This is my time to shine. So Miley Cyrus, will you be my Valentine?"
Marquez made no secret of his admiration for Cyrus and even walked out into the octagon to her cover of 'Heart of Glass'.
The 30-year-old continued: "What’s not to be interested in her?
"I’m 30 years old, I grew up watching Hannah Montana, ‘Party in the USA.’ We’re sitting here and loving it. She came out with ‘23,’ with Three 6, I’ve been to her concerts many times.
"She came out with ‘Wrecking Ball,’ I made a big come up after that song, I actually walked out to that song for the Phil Hawes fight.
"Every time I walk out to Miley, she does something to me to figure out how to win.
“She’s … my love. I love that woman.”
And his affection for the 28-year-old singer paid off when she agreed to his request, but with a compromise.
Taking to Twitter, she responded: "Shave an MC into your chest and I am YOURS. Happy VDay and congrats my love."
However some Marquez fans think he has blown it with his response.
The middleweight fighter, nicknamed 'The Cuban Missile Crisis', said: "If you get a henna tattoo that says Cuban Missile Crisis above your belly button like 2pac I’m in."
