Liam Gallagher mocks Harry Kane for staying at Tottenham over Man City and says 'he'd have got a game every now again'

MANCHESTER CITY fan Liam Gallagher has mocked Harry Kane for deciding to remain at Tottenham beyond the summer.

Despite the 28-year-old claimed to be keen to make the move to the Etihad in search of silverware, he took to social media to confirm he will be staying at Spurs.

Kane returned to action for the North Londoners on Sunday against Wolves where he was greeted by cheers from the travelling Tottenham fans.

And the ex-Leyton Orient loanee has revealed the support he received from the Spurs faithful played a part in his decision to stay.

The England skipper tweeted: "It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I've had in the last few weeks.

"I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100 per cent focused on helping the team achieve success."

And former Oasis frontman Gallagher was quick to comment on the news, as he said: "Nothing against Harold Kane but I’m glad he’s not coming to MCFC as you were LG x."

In a follow up tweet, he added: "Listen I’m sure if we’d have signed him he'd have got a game every now again.

"Just think he’s better of where he is MCFC CHAMPIONS LG x."

His followers were loving his messages, as one quipped: "Heard Levy would only sanction it if Oasis got back together and did ten dates at the Tottenham Stadium."

Another said: "Love how you interact with the fans Liam, you are iconic."

A third joked: "He'd of made a right a*** of singing Champagne Supernova on the Christmas karaoke as well mate."

Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo has spoken of his delight at Kane deciding to remain at the club.

Speaking ahead of their Europa Conference League Play-Off second leg at home to Portuguese minnows Paços de Ferreira, he said: “It’s great news, great news.

"Fantastic news for everybody. We are all very happy. One of the best players in the world.

"We are all delighted to have more options for the season ahead of us.”
