MOUR TO COME?
A timely reminder of Jose Mourinho's success…
TOTTENHAM have approached Real Madrid with a view to completing the shock signing of Luka Jovic, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is desperate for a centre-forward to replace Harry Kane and Defesa Central claim he wants to use his good relationship with Florentino Perez to push a move through.
But Perez is not said to be keen on selling Jovic in this transfer window, while Zinedine Zidane did start the Serb in both the semi-final and final of the Spanish Super Cup.
The Serbian national team are also reportedly keen to see more from the striker with a crucial Euro 2020 play-off away to Norway coming up in March.
SAN SIRO AWAITS
Inter Milan are growing even more confident of Christian Eriksen arriving this month and hope the Dane will watch their clash against Cagliari next Sunday.
The Dane is out of contract in the summer and is expected to leave in the winter transfer window – with Inter the hot favourites.
Jose Mourinho had recently blasted the Italian giants for their pursuit of the Spurs midfielder.
But that has not stopped the San Siro outfit from pressing on with the deal, as Correire dello Sport report that Eriksen's agent is in London to finalise the deal.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon has all-but ruled out a move for Victor Wanyama this month, claiming the Scottish champions cannot afford him.
Wanyama left the Hoops back in 2013, moving to Southampton and then Tottenham.
And while Lennon is keen on his return, the Kenyan would cost a fortune for the Scots.
As reported by Daily Record, Lennon said on potential new arrivals: “Ideally, yeah, they’d be starters. What we are looking for is to add one or two, like an Elyounoussi type, who are ready to come in and play straight away with a bit more experience and physicality.
“Against Rangers, we looked like we lacked a little bit of nous and experience, a little bit of physicality, so they are areas we’re looking at to bring in.
“We’ve room for manoeuvre to bring one or two more in.
“He’s [Wanyama's] in my thoughts but could we afford him? I doubt it very much.
“The problem is where to fit him in. I don’t think that’s going to be an option.”
JACK'S THE NEW JAN
Tottenham are eyeing up a move for Sheffield United centre-back Jack O'Connell.
The Blades star has been a huge part of their rise up the Premier League table and challenge for European places – despite only earning promotion last season.
And, according to Daily Star, Spurs want the 25-year-old to be the heir to Jan Vertonghen, who looks certain to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
