Open Post: Hosted By An Arizona Hiker Going For A Barfy Wild Ride

A 74-year-old Arizona hiker was injured and ended up having to get a helicopter rescue. Sounds simple enough until the helicopter starts acting like possessed carnival ride gone wrong and spins the fuck out on this poor woman. A camera man captured the rescue, and the video is wild. It’s the 2019 remix of Dead or Alive’s You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) called You Spin Me Round (Like A Gurney).

I’m getting motion sickness just writing about it. The women ended up being okay, but I’m sure it will be a minute until she gets on a helicopter or a spinning carnival ride again.

According to Mashable this took place on a dusty mountain:

It’s already bad enough being injured in the middle of a hot, dusty mountain.

So spare a thought or two for this hiker, whose bad day turned even worse when the helicopter basket she was rescued in started spinning uncontrollably.

The 74-year-old woman was airlifted from Piestewa Peak in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday morning, when the basket at first started to sway, then gradually built up speed as it continued to rotate. The poor woman.

That poor woman is right. First, she’s 74 and hiking. When I’m 74 I plan to be doing only things I love. So I’ll either be on a Golden Girls theme cruise or starting fights at a buffet. Plus, this was her rescue helicopter, so she was already starting from a shit place, then she got the Michael Lohan of helicopters. You know, strictly there to make things worse.

In a press conference, authorities said the woman was nauseous and dizzy after the somewhat calamitous rescue, but didn’t suffer any additional ill effects after the spin.

“Sometimes when we bring the helicopter up from the ground, it will start to spin,” Paul Apolinar, Phoenix Police’s chief pilot said. “We have a line attached to the basket that’s supposed to prevent that. Today it didn’t.”

I’m glad she wasn’t hurt but I can’t imagine what kind of nausea and peeing of one’s pants that kind of spinning would provoke. It turns out this is a malfunction has happened before.

Authorities said the spinning is a known phenomenon, and they train for it. In the last six years in which rescuers have hoisted people with the basket, the spinning has only occurred twice.

I’m not sure how they train for it other than having a barf bag, some spare underwear, and an “I’m sorry” card ready. I’m just glad I can add this to my already long list of reasons to not go hiking. See you never, barf helicopter!

Here’s the video in all its spinning glory:

Sarri move to Juventus stalls as Chelsea demand £5.3m release clause is met

MAURIZIO SARRI'S switch from Chelsea to Juventus has been held up by the Blues demanding his £5.3million release clause.

That's the claim from Sky Sports In Italy, where ex-Napoli chief Sarri is keen to return with champions Juve.

Sarri, 60, won the Europa League and finished third in the Premier League in his debut season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

But despite Chelsea improving in the closing months of the campaign, "Sarri-ball" never completely won over fans or pundits.

It is thought the Blues agreed to the 60-year-old returning to his his home country if Juve came in for him.

But today's stumbling block over his release clause confirms a move to the Serie A kingpins is far from a done deal.

In fact, Juventus president Fabio Paratici has told Sarri he is not the only contender.

And reports suggest the Old Lady held lengthy talks over whether Sarri was the ideal replacement for Max Allegri.

Paratici said: "We have very clear ideas and we are working. It takes a moment, we have a range of coaches, there is not only one name.

"How long will it take? There is no time limit, we are working very quietly."

Cheryl reveals the secret to her washboard stomach

Cheryl has finally revealed the secret behind her super slim figure, crediting her mega toned post-baby body to gruelling home workouts.

The 35-year-old pop songstress, who recently flaunted her slim line physique in the sexy new video for her latest single Let You, said that she follows US fitness guru, Tracy Anderson’s workout plans, turning her living room into a sauna for the torturous sounding regime.

Chez said: ‘I’ve been doing the Tracy Anderson method, where you work your muscles at all different angles to lean you out rather than bulk them up.

‘You do it in 90 degree heat with humidity, which is supposed to help tone your skin.’

Speaking to The Sun, she went on to explain she struggled to regain her banging bod after giving birth to two-year-old son, Bear, who she shares with ex flame, Liam Payne.

She continued: ‘Obviously it’s not that easy to get your body back after having a baby so I’m at it nearly every day.

Jeremy Corbyn would be West's first anti-Semitic leader since Hitler, would-be PM Matt Hancock blasts

JEREMY Corbyn would be the first anti-Semitic leader in the West since HITLER, a Tory leadership contender warned tonight.

Matt Hancock warned that if the Tories screw up Brexit they will hand the leftie Labour boss the keys to No10.

He blasted: "The Conservative party has to get this right.

"If we don't, we could end up with the first anti-Semitic leader of a Western nation since WW2."

The Health Secretary's attack on Mr Corbyn came as he addressed Tory MPs at a hustings event this evening.

Mr Hancock insisted he is the man to deliver Brexit – even though he voted Remain in 2016.

He said: "I want to slay this unicorn, that we need a Brexiteer as PM.

"We don't need a Brexiteer as Prime Minister. We need someone who is committed to delivering Brexit."

Labour hit back at Mr Hancock's anti-Semitism claims – a source said it was a "baseless political attack".

We could end up with the first anti-Semitic leader of a Western nation since WW2

Michael Gove opened the door to delaying Brexit beyond October 31 at the hustings, hosted by the One Nation group of MPs.

He said: "If we are making progress and are on the verge of a deal, and we’ve had a good EU Council in October and we’re 99 per cent of the way there on Halloween – are we seriously saying we wouldn’t take a bit more time to get the deal done?"

Jeremy Hunt added: "I met Macron and Merkel today in Portsmouth and a hardline approach will lead to a hardline response. They'll wait for Parliament to block No Deal."

But Dominic Raab insisted that pushing for No Deal was the best way to convince the EU to offer us a better deal.

The Brexiteer said: "As Brexit Secretary I looked our EU opposite numbers in the eyes. I know the strengths but also the weaknesses of their positions.

"That's why we don't just need a conviction Brexiteer. We need someone who is resolute, but someone who can navigate the rocky path ahead and get Brexit delivered."

Yesterday Boris Johnson told the first hustings event the Tories would be wiped out if they failed to deliver Brexit on time.

Timetable of Tory leadership election which will pick new PM

Hope grows for deal to avoid U.S. tariffs on Mexican goods

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Hope grew on Wednesday for a deal to avoid the United States imposing tariffs on Mexican goods in return for Mexico doing more to halt illegal immigration but President Donald Trump said he was willing to go ahead with the import duties if he is not satisfied.

Trump said he thinks Mexico wants to reach an agreement to stop a new trade war – one that analysts believe might tip its economy into a recession – while a White House trade adviser and senior Republican U.S. lawmaker predicted that Washington might not introduce the proposed tariffs.

“Mexico can stop it. They have to stop it, otherwise we just won’t be able to do business. It’s a very simple thing. And I think they will stop it. I think they want to do something. I think they want to make a deal, and they sent their top people to try and do it,” Trump said at the start of a visit to Ireland.

Frustrated by the lack of progress on a signature issue from his 2016 election campaign, Trump unexpectedly told Mexico last week to take a harder line on curbing illegal immigration or face 5% tariffs on all its exports to the United States starting on Monday, rising to as much as 25% later in the year.

Mexican officials will seek to persuade the White House in talks hosted by U.S. Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday that their government has done enough to stem immigration and avoid tariffs. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said he was optimistic the talks can end in an agreement.

Trump said he would go ahead with the tariffs if Mexico does not do more to control migration.

Lopez Obrador has received an official list of U.S. products that could be subject to retaliatory tariffs if the duties threatened by Trump take effect, officials said in Mexico City.

Trump has faced resistance within his own Republican Party over the threatened tariffs, with many lawmakers concerned about the potential impact on cross-border trade and on U.S. businesses and consumers.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro told CNN Trump’s threatened tariffs might not be needed.

“We believe that these tariffs may not have to go into effect precisely because we have the Mexicans’ attention” on stemming illegal immigration, Navarro said.

If the tariffs go ahead, the United States would be in a serious dispute with two of its three top trading partners. U.S. relations with China have worsened in the past month as Washington and Beijing have imposed additional tariffs on each others’ imports.

Mexican officials will offer a “long list of things” in Wednesday’s talks to avoid the duties, said Chuck Grassley, Republican chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. Grassley said a possible deal could be announced on Thursday night.

Grassley represents the farming state of Iowa, which exports pork and other agriculture products to Mexico and might be hit by Mexican retaliation in a prolonged trade dispute.

Some Republicans have told the White House not to count on the same level of support within the party that Trump received earlier this year when the president declared a national emergency to divert funds to build barriers at the border. Democrats opposed that move.

The proposed tariffs also have been criticized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and industry groups due to concerns about increased costs for U.S. businesses and consumers of imported Mexican goods from cars and auto parts to beer and fruit.

The number of people apprehended on the U.S.-Mexico border is at the highest monthly level in more than a decade, but is still lower than at other peak periods of illegal immigration since the 1970s. U.S. authorities have said they are overwhelmed not so much by the number of migrants but by a shift in the type of person turning up at the border in recent years. Increasing numbers of Central American families andunaccompanied minors seeking asylum after fleeing criminal violence in their home countries have been turning themselves in to U.S. border agents, who have long been geared up to catch mainly single, adult Mexicans trying to cross clandestinely.

Mexican Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard will attend the talks on tariffs and immigration scheduled in Washington on Wednesday afternoon. He is expected to try to show the White House that authorities are taking steps to stem the flow of migrants, with Mexico detaining double the number each day than it was a year ago.

Leftist Lopez Obrador has said he wants to persuade Washington to help tackle the causes of migration by investing in Central America to create jobs and speed up economic development.

Tariffs could slow another type of migration: the more than 1 million cows exported by Mexico across the border each year that become part of the U.S. beef supply. Tariffs on cattle crossing the border could raise costs for U.S. meat producers and processors, ranchers and economists said, particularly in border states such as New Mexico and Texas.

Pence is looking for a comprehensive suite of proposals from the visiting officials about stopping the flow of migrants from Central America, a White House official said.

“Trade and all other aspects of our relationship are critically important, but national security comes first and the White House is dead serious about moving forward with tariffs if nothing can be done to stem the flow of migrants,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The Mexican economy will likely slip into recession this year if Trump follows through on his tariff threat, a Reuters poll of market analysts showed.

An industry source who has met with the Mexican delegation said that ideas being floated to solve the dispute are more border controls and joint security exercises on Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala, which Central American migrants pass through on their way to the United States.

Love Island 2019: Is THIS why so many couples break up after show? Star speaks out

Speaking exclusively to, Love Island 2018 star Eyal Booker, 23, spoke out about what causes the couples who get together on the dating programme to split so soon after. Of the eight pairs who departed last year’s show in couples, all sixteen stars are now single. Aside from a brief separation in December, winners Dani Dyer, 23, and Jack Fincham, 28, remained together longer than their fellow contestants, confirming their split last month. Asked if Love Island truly helps cast members find love, Eyal said: “I think it’s just the same as the normal world just in a heightened experience.”

He went on to explain why he believes the number of post-Love Island break-ups is as high as it is, claiming it’s the same ratio as any sample of young daters in the outside world.

“We look at people dating and if you take the age demographic that’s in there and you do it on a larger scale and you line people up who are in relationships, how many of them will be in relationships within that year?” he said. “Maybe only one or two of them.”

Admitting the cast of 2018 had a particularly bad track record when it came to relationship success after leaving the show, Eyal said: “I think our year was just slightly more unsuccessful.

“But I think within those moments everyone was in love – or falling in love – with that person,” he added.

“You’ve got people like Alex [Bowen] and Olivia [Buckland] and Jess [Shears] and Dom [Lever] who are all happily married with kids on the way and stuff like that and you’ve got other couples that still remain,” he observed.

Eyal also opened up on the impact leaving the villa and returning to the real world has on couples.

“You go from being in such an intense experience where nothing can affect you besides what’s going on within the villa to going into the real world where you’ve got real pressures and distractions and you’re being pulled in different directions and life is a lot more difficult,” he explained.

The model told so long as the contestants don’t have a wandering eye and are committed to their partners, maintaining relationships is easier within the confines of the luxurious Mallorca pad inhabited by the sexy singletons during their long, hot summer.

“If you’re in a strong relationship with somebody that you’re really into and there’s no one in the villa that is gonna distract you, then definitely, it’s a million per cent easier because that’s all you know,” he said.

Eyal had his share of ups and downs on Love Island last year, having initially couples up with Hayley Hughes, 22, before their union took a decidedly bitter turn when they fell out within a couple of days.

He then moved on to have a brief fling with Megan Barton-Hanson, 25, before she eventually started a relationship with Wes Nelson, 21.

However, Eyal revealed he is now dating someone and, with things going well between them, is excited to see what their future holds.

Meanwhile, on the new series of Love Island, the contestants faced their first shake-up during last night’s episode when Curtis Pritchard, 23, and Tommy Fury, 20, had to pick which girls they wanted to couple up with, thus stealing them from their previous partners.

Dancer Curtis, who is the brother of Strictly Come Dancing favourite AJ Pritchard, 24, chose flight attendant Amy Hart, 27, leaving Anton Danyluk, 24, single.

Tyson Fury’s younger sibling Tommy, who is also a professional boxer, sent shockwaves through the villa by picking Lucie Donlan, 21, despite her chemistry with Joe Garratt, 22, being plain for all to see.

Tonight, fans will watch on as tensions mount ahead of the first recouping.

Elisabeth Moss & Samira Wiley Discuss Significance of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Costume – Watch Here!

Elisabeth Moss and Samira Wiley are all smiles as they make their way out of the Good Morning America studios after teasing the new season of The Handmaid’s Tale on Wednesday (June 5) in New York City.

During their interview, Samira said the words “chosen family” and Elisabeth said “never giving up” to best describe season three of the popular series, which is based on renowned Canadian writer Margaret Atwood‘s 1985 classic novel.

Elisabeth and Samira also opened up about the significance of The Handmaid’s Tale costume and their reactions to seeing women around the world wearing it.

“Those are our work clothes, that’s our thing we put on when we go and do our job, but I get inspired when I see women out there wearing that costume and standing up for what they believe,” Elisabeth told GMA. “That actually inspires me. I think they’re doing the real work. I think they’re out there on the front lines and so I feel honored to put on that costume with them.”

“I feel like that is exactly who we are representing,” Samira added on those using the costumes in their protests. “To see that people are out there wearing those things and wearing the handmaid’s costume, it just gives me a heightened sense of responsibility, in terms of what we are making. It is television, but at the end of the day it can elicit real change so I’m really proud.”

Later that same day, Elisabeth was spotted in a different ensemble after taping her appearance on The View.
