There’s no denying parenthood in lockdown has been tough for many, but perhaps the hardest on new parents.
Research conducted by Tu at Sainbury’s exploring the experiences of new parents adapting to life under Covid has shown that more than half (52%) of pregnant women and new mums feel their mental health has been negatively affected during the pandemic and 48% said they’ve felt isolated coping with the demands of early motherhood during lockdown.
While, 96% also admitted they feel they’ve missed out on the full experience of new parenthood.
We were overjoyed to hear Tu at Sainsbury’s is trying to help by teaming up with Motherkind, a multi-media digital platform aimed at sharing skills and experiences via a network of parents.
The supermarket will be launching four free online workshops through Eventbrite. The classes will cover topics such as self-care, partner relationships and socialising your baby, to help give advice and support, whic you can sign up for on @tuclothing social media platforms, on Wednesday 18th at 9am.
In the meantime we wanted to help new mums too, by reminding you it’s Mother’s Day soon so what better time to send those expecting, or on maternity leave a gorgeous gift or two.
