One such woman who has been using the time to clean is Mrs Hinch, AKA Sophie Hinchliffe. The famous cleaning sensation often posts tips and tricks on how to keep a tidy home to her Instagram account which has 3.3 million followers.

However it seems that her social media presence has inspired many people to also get online with their cleaning hacks, with several Facebook groups serving as forums for fans to share what they have learned. Here are some of the best.

£1 hack for removing hair and dust from your carpet

One woman on the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips shared an amazing hack on how to remove hair and dust from your carpet.

Posting on the group, the woman wrote: “Amazing hack I just have to share with you all! I do this once a week and the build up is shocking.

“I have a dog so for me it gets all the dust and hair the Hoover can’t! Just the usual shower/window screen squeegee- can get from Wilko, Poundland!”

A trick to make your bathroom tiles look brand new

One woman posted her tip on how to tackle the bathroom tiles and transform your floor to the Facebook group, Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips. She wrote: “Before and after on our bathroom! This took nearly 3 grout pens but looks a lot better.”

Grout Pens do not actually clean the dirt away, but rather they conceal it. Using ink they cover up stains using including the everyday mould or dirt that builds up on the grout in between your tiles.

On Amazon they are currently priced at £3.81 with free delivery, so to use three to cover a whole bathroom would cost just over a tenner; worth it considering the results!

How to clean your sink using fairy liquid and tin foil

You will be pleased to know that one woman came up with a fabulous hack for cleaning your sink and it, rather surprisingly, involves just tinfoil, soap and water.

A member of the Facebook group Hinch Army Cleaning Tips, shared that a great way to leave your sink sparkling clean is to scrunch up the tinfoil into a ball and then use it to scrub away muck from the draining board.

The tip, which she learnt from her dad years ago, is useful especially because if you are crumpling up the tinfoil yourself you can shape it any which way you see fit.

She explained: “Just thought I’d post this little trick my dad told me about a while ago.

"Hot water, Fairy liquid and tin foil! Tear a bit off and scrunch it up and scrub, it gets everything off and won’t scratch!

“Great for things like round your taps as you can mould the foil how you want and get in little gaps! Then just anti bac after and it’s clean. It’s simple and cheap and something everyone already has at home.”

She then shared before and after pictures to show how it successfully made her draining board glisten and took it from matte to shiny.

How to clean blinds with a product made for your face

What is the perfect product for cleaning your blinds? Well, one Mrs Hinch fan believes the answer can be found in your wash bag.

She has come up with a fantastic and easy way to clean blinds, involving a product traditionally used on our faces, and she shared it on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips page.

On the Facebook group she posted a picture of some very dirty blinds as well as a wipe which was covered in muck.

Alongside this she wrote: "These blinds are over 15 years old.

"Cleaning them has always been a bit of a faff and so it's one of those jobs I conveniently place at the bottom of my list to get around to.

"Full disclosure, I think the last time these had a good dust was around Christmas but it could have been longer. I'm happy to announce, I've found my new go-to method – the trusty make up wipe."

The woman then went on to explain why she preferred face wipes to traditional cleaning wipes, adding: “Now I'm sure most cleaning wipes would do as good of a job but they dry out so quickly.

“Make up wipes have lots of moisture and doing the whole blind didn't take 15 minutes."
