Tess Daly has always been a beauty enigma. She hardly seems to have aged during her 17 years on Strictly Come Dancing, yet at 52 there's no trace of her looking “done”.

Now, though, the glamorous presenter has opened up in detail for the first time about her high-tech regime for preserving her enviable looks.

Tess has revealed that she’s “delighted” by the results of Ultherapy, a non-invasive professional treatment that uses ultrasound energy to boost collagen levels from within and leave skin looking “glowy and rested”.

Speaking to Notebook magazine, Tess reveals that she was first turned on to the £500+ treatment by a friend she spotted looking “incredible” after having Ultherapy.

“I really liked the fact it’s not invasive and it just works with your own skin to boost your own collagen,” she said. “So I booked in and I’m just delighted with the results.”

She adds: “A couple of months in, I caught sight of myself in the mirror and thought ‘Oh I look like I've had a really good night's sleep.’ It suddenly looked like nice lighting but it’s the same mirror I always see myself in and that’s the barometer I judge myself by.”

“My skin looks better than it has in a long while, and friends have complimented me.”

Although Tess sees Ultherapy as “an investment” in the future of her skin, she reveals she also refuses to put herself under unrealistic pressures to fight time. Tess says that she sees her lines and wrinkles as the sign of a life well lived, putting some of them down to her hilarious Strictly co-host.

“I’m just full of laughter lines, but that’s an occupational hazard of working with Claudia Winkleman!” she says. “I wouldn’t change that for a second, laughter is the greatest tonic.”

Tess reveals that she’s had two sessions of Ultherapy over the past 18 months, and is so impressed she’s become an ambassador for the brand.

She was particularly drawn to the fact that it’s non-invasive, with little or no recovery time. Although she’s refused to rule out anything more drastic in the future, she admits to being “a chicken” about the idea of changing her appearance.

“In my business, I wouldn't want to look like an altered version of myself,” she explains. “I’d be really scared of ending up with that dreadful wind tunnel look. It is something I fully intend on swerving.”

If a bit of ultrasound can make us to look as good as Tess, we certainly wouldn’t say no to a Daly dose…
