Mum praised online after posting real body photos in series of lingerie snaps

A mum has been applauded online for showcasing her "real" body in a series of lingerie pictures.

Breeahn Carter, from Perth, Australia, built an audience of almost 20,000 after sharing a glimpse into her life as a parent.

But after noticing other influencers relied on apps and Photoshop, the parent decided to share an unedited snap of her body.

In a bid to embrace her "real" self, the 35-year-old has since revealed how the response was "overwhelmingly positive".

Speaking to, Breeahn said: "We're led to believe that things like skin texture, rolls aren't desirable.

"Yet they're all things most of us have."

She added: "So many women were thankful to see a 35-year-old mum-of-two put herself out there and say, 'Yep, this is me'."

Posting with the four photos of her in a lingerie set, the mum shared a lengthy caption to explain her motivation.

Breeahn told how she shared the snaps after stumbling across videos of influencers who showed how they edited their photos.

Speaking to her 18,700 fans, she said: "It made me sad. These girls were STUNNING. And had millions of followers."

After admitting "we still have a long way to go", Breeahn went onto detail her experience growing up in a "diet culture".

She explained: "The bodies shown to us were slim only and judgment was everywhere.

"I remember crying in a changing room because my butt stuck out. I don't remember a time when I didn't think I should be on a diet…

"I came to the realisation recently that the thinking that diet culture has pressed upon me is exhausting. So I stopped."

She added: "I still want to be fit. I still want to be healthy.

"But no longer will I turn down cake at the office, or a treat because I 'shouldn't' or binge on a 'cheat' day.

"I guess what I am trying to say is that no matter WHERE you are in the 'loving your body as it is' journey you are NOT alone."

A third commented: "Gorgeous babe and it's so great seeing other people on social media not editing their faces and bodies."

Breeahn told the publication she took the snaps in her backyard, using a white sheet hung off her kids' jungle gym as a backdrop.

She concluded: "My only lighting was the sun, which was shining into my eyes so I had no idea what the pics looked like."
