Bridezilla rants online after friends refuse to pay £2.1k to attend wedding

An “entitled” bride has been mocked online after posting a Facebook rant slamming her wedding invitees for not RSVPing to her big day.

The anonymous “bridezilla” criticised her friends and family for not sparing “$2,000 to come share our happiness” after she cut the cost down from $3,000 (£2,193) due to lack of attendees.

A Reddit user shared a screenshot of the rant on the r/facepalm subforum, where it quickly went viral.

More than 41,000 people liked the post and over 3,000 left comments.

Some dubbed her “over the top entitled” and said they were “surprised she has any friends.”

In the Facebook post, the bride said: “At the risk of sounding entitled… I have to vent today.

“When we invited our friends and family to our destination wedding in Thailand, only nine people RSVP’d. Out of 150!!!"

She continued: “OK, I get it, paying $3,000 to share my special day is too much for some of you, I’d pay for yours, but whatever.

“But then, when we changed the wedding to be in Hawaii, so it’s within everyone’s reach, only 7 of you RSVP’d??”

"It costs less but less of you wanna come? IS that what you think of [name redacted] and me? You can’t spare $2k to come share our happiness?”

“I’m tempted to just elope and not let any of you be a part of our happiest day.

“This is it guys, you have three days to respond to our e-vites or we’re deleting you off FB and good luck keeping up with out lives then.

“And don’t get me started on the registry… only the cheap stuff is gone, I swear I thought I had better friends [Groom] and I are asking you to reconsider.”

In the comments, one person said: “I'm surprised Bridezilla has any friends.”

To which another replied: “She likely won’t after this and I wouldn’t be surprised if the seven cancelled after that post.

“The thing about a destination wedding is that if you want to get married far away then that’s your choice, but don’t expect everyone to also agree and spend the money and PTO to achieve that.

“Also it’s sooo low class and tacky to call out people’s choices of wedding gift. SMH, that bridezilla is probably only going to get worse as it gets closer and closer and things continue to not go her way.”

A third commented: “B**** that’s is a MONTHS pay for a lot of people. And that’s average. A lot of people make less than that!

“She sounds like a spoiled little rich princess that expects everyone to buy her s**t even though her family has money.

“If I had read that message I would have returned anything I had bought,” noted another.

“When 141 out of 150 people think that you're being unreasonable, chances are the problem is you,” another said."
