MEGHAN Markle will not be returning to work until later this year but will "mirror" Kate Middleton by attending a select number of royal engagement, a biographer has claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, is on maternity leave following the birth of her son Archie last month but made an appearance at the Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
Although royal fans hoped that the royal engagement meant that Meghan would be returning to work soon, Vanity Fair's royal correspondent Katie Nicholl says the Duchess will take maternity leave "until fall".
The royal expert says Meghan will "mirror" her sister-in-law Kate Middleton and attend a handful of royal engagements before making her official return.
A source told the biographer: "It was important to [Meghan] to be at Trooping today out of respect to the Queen.
"She's mirroring what the Duchess of Cambridge did on maternity leave. You'll probably see her at a few engagements but she won't be back to work properly until later this year."
The source also claimed that Meghan will be returning to full-time work in October – five months after the birth of her first son.
Following the birth of Prince Louis last year, Kate Middleton made a select number of appearances – including the annual Trooping the Colour.
The Duchess of Cambridge also attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding last May, just three weeks after she gave birth.
What's more, this year's Trooping the Colour wasn't just the first time we'd seen Meghan since she gave birth – it was also Prince Louis' first official royal engagement.
