IS lockdown killing your libido?
Nearly one in five Sun readers reckon their sex life is worse since Covid restrictions came in, according to our recent exclusive poll.
But with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, it is time to turn that around.
New parents and 2016 Love Island winners Cara De La Hoyde, 30, and Nathan Massey, 28, are among the many lovers whose sex life has been suffering in the pandemic.
The couple, who tied the knot two years ago, have son Freddie, three, and daughter Delilah, six months.
Before lockdown — and before having a new baby — they say their sex life was “amazing and fun” and that they were getting frisky “most days”.
But now they are only having sex a couple of times a month — “if they’re lucky”.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun from their home in Kent, Nathan said: “Before we had a baby, the whole bedroom area was a completely different ball game.
“Then we could take our time, enjoy it, experiment and do whatever we wanted. Now it’s about getting it when you can.”
Cara rolls her eyes and adds: “It’s important to spice up your sex life, especially with everything going on.
“We are a strong team but we’d like to mix things up in the bedroom and experiment a bit.
“Sex is all about having fun and it’s good to have a giggle.”
We asked the couple to try one libido-boosting sex aid every day for a week — and rate them out of ten — to see if it gave their love life a lift . . .
LELO flickering touch massage candle
Nathan: “We’ve never used a massage candle before so it was something different.
“Cara deserves a massage so I let her go first.
“It smelt amazing – of cocoa and vanilla – and it was very erotic pouring the hot oil over her.
“The candle definitely set the mood for some sensual loving.”
Cara: “It was very romantic and I loved every minute of it.
“We rarely have time to experiment with new things and take the time out to touch and caress each other.
“It felt very intimate and was my favourite product.
“We will definitely be stocking up on this.”

Dr Ed CBD libido enhancing oil
Nathan: “We’ve tried lots of CBD oils but this was one of the best and it tasted nice too.
“You put a few drops on your tongue and it takes about 20 minutes to kick in.
“It definitely helped chill us out and made us feel loved up.
“But perhaps a little bit too chilled as we ended up falling asleep.”
Cara: “Our sensual night turned into snuggles and spooning but while we may not have had any rumpy pumpy, we did feel closer and actually switched off.
“As we were so relaxed we had a good night’s kip so felt more in the mood the following morning.”

Zuyosa vitality supplement for men
Nathan: “These pills are meant to boost your libido and performance and work like a herbal Viagra.
“I have always been a bit sceptical of these pills but as instructed I took one two hours before activity and was surprised when I suddenly felt a surge of energy.
“But when it comes to performance, I don’t need much help in that department (Cara might say otherwise), so it’s hard to say how well it worked in keeping me going.
“But these pills would probably be great for an old boy who needs a little bit of a lift and help with stamina.”

Bondara orgasm cream 50ml
Nathan: “Cara loved this so it gets a big thumbs-up from me.
“It’s great because you’re not under too much pressure to perform because the miracle cream does most of the hard work. Everyone’s a winner.”
Cara: “It was amazing, it made all my lady parts more tingly and stimulated and led to a more intense orgasm.
“It didn’t take long to kick in either, which is great for time-stretched people.
“And ladies, you don’t need a man to use this product, it works just as well by yourself.”

- RATING: 10/10
Pink Venus pill for women
Cara: “I took the female version of the pill Nathan took on Day 3.
“It’s got guarana extract, which is a powerful source of caffeine.
“After running around all day after my babies, I was exhausted and sex really was the last thing on my mind.
“I just wanted to chill out and have a bath.
“But luckily for Nathan the pill kicked in after an hour and, to my surprise, put me in the mood and increased my desire.”

Ann Summers aphrodisiac perfume 100ml
Nathan: “Cara smelt very sexy, I just wanted to rip her clothes off and jump on her.
“The scent did what it said on the bottle and seduced me.
“We had a passionate night together and I would like her to wear it every day.”
Cara: “We all had Covid before Christmas so sadly I still can’t smell anything.
“But judging by Nathan’s reaction I’d say this perfume definitely works.
“From a girlie point of view, I really love the bottle, it looks pretty on my beauty table – but I doubt I’ll have much left at this rate.”

Spanish Fly aphrodisiac drops
Nathan: “I was excited to try this as the reviews looked promising and the product looks fun.
“But sadly it didn’t do much for me.
“After using the pipette to place a couple of drops beneath our tongues we waited for an hour for lift-off but nothing happened.
Cara: “We ended up watching Netflix instead.
“Nathan was very disappointed.
“We scored the product a five as the reviews were so good – it could work for you.”

FEED YOUR DESIRES
DON’T want to splash out on specialist aids? These foods – which you can find in your local supermarket – could boost your libido, too . . .
- Asparagus: This doesn’t just look a little rude – it’s packed with folate, a B vitamin that helps boost the production of histamine, which is important for a healthy sex drive in men and women.
- Chocolate: Has two chemicals – tryptophan and phenylethylamine – which get you in the mood. The first is a building block of serotonin, a brain chemical important in sexual arousal. The other is a stimulant related to amphetamine and is released in the brain when people fall in love.
- Chilli: The active component, called capsaicin, in a spicy chilli pepper heightens sensations – making every touch hotter.
- Strawberries: Feeding these to your lover can be a real turn-on. They’re packed with vitamin C and several minerals important for a healthy sex drive.
- Oysters: Packed with zinc, which is good for testosterone and healthy sperm. Oysters also boost dopamine, a hormone that increases sex drive.
