Kate Middleton & Prince William share previously-unseen photo of Prince Louis to thank fans for his birthday well wishes

KATE Middleton and Prince William have thanked royal fans who sent a card to Prince Louis on his birthday by sharing an adorable, previously-unseen photo of their youngest son.

In April, the proud parents shared sweet photos of Prince Louis playing with rainbow paint to celebrate his second birthday.

The new portrait of Louis – which was shared on the royal fan Instagram account Kat's Royal Letters – was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge before the toddler cracked open the paint.

On the front of the thank-you card, Kate and William have chosen to feature the unseen photo of their beaming two-year-old.

Meanwhile, the message on the back of the card reads: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appreciated your kind thought in writing to Prince Louis as you did on the occasion of his second birthday.

"This was greatly appreciated by Their Royal Highnesses who send you their best wishes."

Kate chose to dress Louis in a £12 blue-and-white checked shirt from Sainsbury's for the photos.

The sweet portraits were taken by the Duchess in the garden of their Norfolk home Amner Hall – where the Cambridge family have been in lockdown since March.

The young royal was pictured playing with rainbow paint in the six images which were released for his birthday as William and Kate paid tribute to the NHS amid the coronavirus crisis.

And this isn't the first time the couple have sent royal watchers into a frenzy with their thoughtful cards – last year, Kate and William delighted fans who wished their eldest son a happy birthday with a cute photo of Prince George.

In more Royal Family news, Prince George knows he’s ‘very different’ to siblings as he’s ‘singled out’ to spend time with The Queen, expert claims.
