Viscountess Emma Weymouth: ‘Makes me jump’ Strictly star reveals Aljaz Skorjanec blunder

Viscountess Emma Weymouth and Aljaz Skorjanec will be dancing the Jive to Kids in America by Kim Wilde on Strictly Come Dancing 2019 tonight.

It will be the pair’s fourth time taking to the dance floor to perform a routine in front of judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.

However, despite performing different dances, there is one thing which never changes for Emma as she revealed Aljaz always plays a trick on her.

In her Telegraph Strictly diary published yesterday, the 33-year-old said her professional dance partner always pretends to fall down the stairs just moments before they perform.

She wrote: “Aljaz always pretends to trip on the stairs on the way down to the dance floor, and even though I know it’s coming, it still makes me jump every time.”

Hopefully the Slovenian dancer won’t fall for real tonight as the couple will be dancing an energetic routine.

Emma admitted due to intense rehearsals, her thighs are hurting and she is struggling with daily tasks.

“It’s a dance so energetic that my inner thighs already hurt too much to get in out and of the car without groaning,” she said.

Emma spilled they are going to attempt to pull off some daring tricks, their “bravest” so far.

Giving fans a glimpse of what to expect, she said: “The routine is jumpy, bouncy, kicky and flicky with our bravest tricks to date. I’m excited to show another side of my personality in this one.”

She continued: “Our Jive rehearsals are the sweatiest so far; they are like doing non-stop aerobics and I’m building more muscle by the day.

“I’ll need them for the two boldest moves of the routine, but it’s going to need nerves of steel to carry them off!”

Last week, the pair scored 28 out of 40 points for their Foxtrot as part of Movie Week.

Aljaz addressed a bizarre move during their performance when they appeared on It Takes Two this week.

A fan got in contact with the show to ask why the professional grabbed Emma’s ears when they were dancing.

Host, Rylan Clark-Neal, joked viewers were “concerned” about him covering her ears, to which Aljaz responded: “So, what you see is the drums are really high in the music, so I was just protecting Emma’s ears.”

Emma admitted she didn’t even realise Aljaz had her hands on her ears, as she added: “That is so funny.”

“I didn’t even think about that,” Aljaz chimed in, before jokingly apologising to her.

He added: “So sorry, you couldn’t hear the music.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight on BBC One at 6.40pm.
