Princess Eugenie gives birth: The Queen’s granddaughter welcomes first child with Jack Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie has given birth to her first child with husband Jack Brooksbank.

The 30 year old welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday 9 February, Royal Family officials have announced.

The Royal Family shared a statement which read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present.

“The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.”

It added: “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news.

“This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

Eugenie has also taken to her own Instagram page to share the happy news with her 1.2million followers as she shared a black and white photo of her and Jack holding their newborn baby boy’s hand.

As she shared the image with fans, she added three blue heart emojis alongside the snap.

She was flooded with messages of congratulations from fans in the comments.

One wrote: “So sweet. Congratulations!!” As another said: “Ahhh welcome to the world little one!! Congratulations to the happy couple”.

And a third added: “Congrats to you both on your little boy” alongside a series of blue heart emojis.

The Queen’s granddaughter’s pregnancy was announced by the Royal Family in September.

The Royal Family's Twitter account posted the announcement, which read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021.

“The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.”
