Prince William enjoys cold pint as he chats to Norfolk pub staff gearing up to reopen doors

Prince William has been spotted enjoying an ice cold beverage at a pub in Norfolk as they prepare to reopen their doors.

The 38 year old, who recently thanked fans for their birthday wishes by sharing an adorable family photo, looked chipper as he was photographed following social distancing rules inside The Rose and Crown in Snettisham.

The dad-of-three dressed down for the occasion as he wore a simple light blue shirt underneath a navy v-neck jumper, which he teamed with a matching pair of blue trousers.

William applied hand sanitiser as he stood two metres away from staff members, who could be seen going through a book full of notes and spoke about the cautionary measures they've put into place ahead of Saturday, 4 July.

The trio then headed outside into a secluded garden framed by flourishing pink flowers as they sat around a table eating chips and speaking about their future plans.

The Duke of Cambridge, whose brother Harry recently opened up on their late mother Diana on her birthday, looked happy and relaxed as he rolled up his sleeves, revealing an expensive-looking metallic watch on his left wrist.

Clearly enjoying the trip, William sipped on an cold pint of what appears to be cider as he continued the conversation with his new pals.

The royal's trip comes as Boris Johnson announced he would be easing the lockdown rules by allowing pubs and restaurants to reopen and accommodate more than 30 people at a time, on the understanding that strict social distancing measures would be observed.

Speaking at a press conference at Downing Street, he urged the UK public to behave sensibly and explained that he would not "hesitate" to reintroduce lockdown restrictions if need be.

While certain restrictions will be lifted from tomorrow onwards, chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty has said that he believes the pandemic is "a long way" from being over.

He said: "None of us believe this is a risk-free next step.

"There's no doubt these are environments whose principal job it is to bring people together, that's a great thing to do socially but it's also a great thing from the virus's point of view."
