Octavia Spencer is the latest Hollywood star to speak out in defense of Ellen DeGeneres amid the comedian’s ‘toxic’ workplace scandal.
The Ellen Show has come under the microscope following allegations of intimidating and toxic behaviour from senior staff.
An investigation by BuzzFeed shared allegations from 10 former employees, including one accusation coming from two black staff members who say they were repeatedly mocked by producers for ‘looking too much alike’.
While the allegations of on-set intimidation have not been levelled at Ellen herself, the 62-year-old has been accused of faking her kind persona.
Like many other celebrities, Octavia decided she needed to tell fans about her ‘supportive’ interactions with the host on the show.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, she wrote: ‘Sending love and support to Ellen and all of the employees of her show. All of my interactions with everyone from the show including ELLEN were supportive and fun!

Sending love and support to Ellen and all of the employees of her show. All of my interactions with everyone from the show including ELLEN were supportive and fun! In that spirit I am praying all involved get the love and support they need. UPDATE: lively debate happening in the comments. I welcome that. I also believe that all of the voices of her employees need to be heard. Past and present. Speaking truth to power is the only way change happens. My truth is everyone was kind to me. From the PAs to the producers. So yeah! I want all of those people to feel valued and heard. And no, people are NOT always kind to talent! #AllVoicesNeedToBeHeard #beyekindonetoanother

Indeed, a number of Ellen’s celebrity pals have shared their opinions of the star on social media, denying they were ever treated badly by her on the show’s set.
Katy Perry, Nacho Figueras and Samantha Ronson led the charge, with the Fireworks singer even doubling down after receiving backlash from fans.
While other stars including Kevin Hart, Ashton Kutcher and many more also chose to speak out about their love for Ellen.
The star’s wife Portia updated fans to confirm that her wife was ‘doing great’ amid the scandal.
When asked by Page Six whether Ellen would be continuing her show, Portia simply responded: ‘Yes she is.’
