Nigella Lawson often shares photos of her homemade dishes and delectable recipes on Instagram. It was no different when the culinary favourite gave a glimpse into a tasty meal she was tucking into during a night out yesterday.

The 61-year-old posted an image of her meal at London’s swanky Locanda Locatelli eatery.

In view of her 2.5 million followers, the chef shared a snap of a spaghetti dish which was later met with some criticism.

Nigella penned: “What a treat and a joy to be back at @locandalocatelli.

“I feasted on their lovely lobster linguine (among other deliciousnesses); the bowl of deep green behind, is their rapturous nettle and snail risotto.”

While her fans gushed over the mouth-watering dish, one social media user appeared to take issue with the post.

They asked the TV star to offer fewer recipes that are full of carbohydrates.

The person in question wrote: “Can you do some low carb meals please? Carbs trigger insulin production which reduces the output of lipase which leads to fat absorption.”

Seemingly taken aback by the message, Nigella took the opportunity to respond.

She said: “This was my dinner! It’s not an instruction.”

The social media user was met with sneering comments, as fans applauded Nigella’s response.

One commented: “You are so polite and patient.”

Another said: “Tell them Nigella,” while a third added: “@nigellalawson simply perfect.”

The user in question later amended their previous message, saying: “It was just a general question, nothing to do with questioning your tea Nigella. Gosh, it seems like there’s a lot of highly strung people following you.”

Her comments come after Nigella recently opened up about body image while filming her cooking shows.

Talking in a candid interview, she insisted that she “doesn’t focus” on what people say about her and nowadays her desire for comfort is “much greater” than her vanity.

Nigella added that after reaching a certain age in life she enjoys “lounging about flat out” in her home and sticks to a “baggy black” wardrobe.

“A lot of people in my family have died of cancer, and I don’t think you can witness that and equate thinness with health. It’s quite alarming,” she explained.

“I don’t focus on what people say about me, even when I’m filming.”

Nigella added to People.com: “I occasionally think, ‘Oh, why didn’t I hold my tummy in?’ but it doesn’t last because I was trying to be something other than I am, which would make me feel even more uncomfortable.

“The shape of your body, that’s where the flesh settles, isn’t it? You can’t do an awful lot about that.”
