Laura Anderson has admitted her time on Love Island was "punishment" for Dane Bowers following their split.
Scottish beauty Laura, 32, and Another Level singer Dane, 41, split in 2018 after she discovered he had been cheating on her.
Soon after, Laura signed up for Love Island and found fame in the villa – where she coupled up with Wes Nelson before he ended their romance and coupled up with Megan Barton-Hanson.
Laura then coupled up with Jack Fowler, who then ditched her for surfer Laura Crane. But, the Scottish beauty appeared to find love with Paul Knops, but their romance ended after they left the villa.
Three years on from her time finding love in the Majorcan sun and Laura and Dane have rekindled their romance after discovering they had both signed up for Ex On The Beach.
As they debut their revived love in an interview with new! – and even talk marriage and babies – Laura admitted that she went on Love Island to "punish" singer Dane.
Speaking in a video interview, Laura said of her decision to go on Love Island: "That was his punishment, watching me get with other men."
And it appeared to have worked as Dane admitted there were moments of the reality series he didn't enjoy watching.
"Watching Laura on Love Island [was] obviously not great when there were certain parts to watch," he said as Laura laughed.
The singer continued: "No, but in general I kinda of was just… We'd just split up and that's why she went on the show, pretty much."
Laura then confessed: "Yeah, that's why I left".
The DJ went on: "Which was my fault, so you kind of got to take it on the chin and mostly I just wanted her to do well and be happy and when she was upset and those moments where it wasn't really nice to watch."
Laura added: "I was always crying wasn't I?!" Her beau then insisted: "No, no not just crying but when someone wasn't nice or there was a situation that wasn't nice then I didn't really wanna watch it."
Blonde beauty Laura then turned to Dane and asked him: "So you made yourself not my ex anymore, you're like my friend."
Dane replied: "Well, yeah, I was still rooting for you and wanting you to be OK. So, yeah, some of it wasn't the best to watch."
The couple have since put the past behind them, but Dane admitted he had to put in some work to win Laura back.
He said: "I was very embarrassed about how I handled the situation all those years ago and I had to do a bit of grovelling and making up. It’s been a humbling thing and made me realise how much I do really love her.
"For her to go back to an ex after I did the bad thing, well it’s been hard for Laura to forgive. She’s put me through the wringer a bit, but she’s a very kind and giving person."
