OK! columnist Kym Marsh has been through the mill with her health lately after having surgery on two hernias last month.

And in her latest column the Morning Live presenter said her recovery "is still going slowly" and she's even had to have time off from the popular BBC show.

"My doctors thought I had a bit of an infection so they gave me antibiotics," she revealed.

"It’s just taking time but I’m trying to be patient. I can move around a bit more and I’m able to walk better, but I wasn’t allowed to go to London to the Morning Live studio last week.

"The BBC have been amazing about it but it’s very frustrating. But my health has to come first. So I’m trying to stay positive and keep going."

While Kym has been recovering, Strictly professional Janette Manrara has been holding the fort on the show alongside host Gethin Jones.

And Kym said the support she's received couldn't be more crucial in keeping her upbeat while she's off work.

"I’ve been inundated with flowers and lovely messages from my friends this week, which has really cheered me up," she told readers of her OK! column.

"It’s so important to remember to reach out to others while we’re all stuck at home. From funny videos in WhatsApp groups to pictures of my grandson, the little things have really helped to keep me smiling and I’m so grateful to everyone for keeping my spirits up.

"So if there’s someone in your life who you think could use cheering up at the moment, try to drop them a message just to check in.

She added: "Kindness goes such a long way."

As well as trying to get back to full health, Kym had a hard day to contend with while recovering.

Her late son Archie, who was stillborn, would have turned 12 last week.

Kym revealed: "It’s always a really tough day, but we always try to spend it reflecting or setting off balloons

"James Greenwood, who is the vet on Morning Live, makes his own pottery and he sent me a lovely little bowl.

"David’s girlfriend had brought me some yellow roses, which I always say is Archie’s flower, and one of the heads had come off.

"So she put water in the bowl and put the rose in there and we’ve put it by Archie’s ashes. It looks lovely, so I’m going to keep putting a flower in there now."
