Morning Live presenter Kym Marsh, 44, said her lack of sleep was down to her alarm going off all night after her appliances cut out. Insisting it could be a struggle to present the show today, she wished her co-star Gethin Jones, 43, “good luck” ahead of his return.

Last night was eventful!

In view of her 772,000 followers, she wrote: “Well… last night was eventful!

“Electrics tripped, no access to the fuse box where I’m staying, so no hot water as [the] boiler went off, all appliances went off, no heating and then the alarm was going off all night, Zero sleep!

“Soooo… good luck @GethincJones today!.”

Many of her followers flocked to her post to share their thoughts.

One user commented: “Good morning Kym, hope your day gets better.”

A second joked: “Otherwise ok?”

“Just means Gethin has to do the exercises on his own lol,” a third added.

Kym and her co-star have been fronting the BBC show since it launched last year.

Yesterday, Gethin was forced to pull out of the show after a surge of coronavirus testing in his area.

NHS Test and Trace is currently providing additional testing in a targeted area within South London, where the South African variant was first discovered.

Sitting alongside stand-in host Rav Wilding, she told viewers: “No Gethin today – he lives in an area affected by the surge testing but keeping his seat very warm is our Rav.”

Later in the show, Gethin explained his absence via a video link.
