Iggy Azalea saw she was trending on Twitter and probably got excited–but things quickly went left from there. The reason for Iggy trending had nothing to do with people being into her music again or her fighting with Azealia Banks again. Iggy did a photo shoot for GQ years ago, and some of the pictures of her exposed nipples didn’t make it into the magazine, but it did make it onto the internet recently and she acted quick. She deactivated her social media accounts because of the heat from the leak and then she popped back up to vow revenge on the one responsible!
TMZ reports that after Iggy’s IG account was hit with rude shit from Azealia Banks using burner accounts, I mean, trolls, she deactivated her account. But Iggy did pop back on to say that she’s mad at GQ for keeping the outtakes that eventually got leaked.
“Recently some outtakes from my 2016 GQ magazine cover were leaked to the public. A lot of high profile women have shot covers for GQ with a strategically placed hand etc covering their breasts etc. I always felt they were very beautiful covers, so I jumped at the opportunity.
I hadn’t seen other women’s covers leak so I felt comfortable (on a closed set) to model for such a reputable magazine knowing only the images with my hands covering would be considered for print. I never considered taking topless pictures for potential release, period…
There was no reason for anyone to have kept outtakes from the shoot. I’m surprised and angry that they were not immediately deleted after the final images were selected.”
She goes on to say how gross the comments have been from men and how they’ve been telling her their “fantasies in regards to my body” and says it has “disturbed” her.
Iggy finished by saying she plans to get to the bottom of the situation:
“I fully intended on finding out where the leak originated from and pressing criminal charges in regards to this. It’s important to me that someone actually be held accountable for their actions and the way it impacts my life.”
Her final words in the release are: “Please be kinder to one another,” which is a cute notion but like: the internet? Nice? Good luck with that. Here’s Iggy’s full release:
GQ had no comment to share with TMZ, but the photographer sure did make some comments of his own.
The guy who shot the cover for GQ Australia, Nino Muñoz, put up his own social media press release and hopped on Instagram to defend himself in his story–especially after that whole, “shouldn’t they be deleted?” thing:
“I’m outraged and saddened to find out that images of mine were stolen and published without my permission.
There is currently an investigation underway. Posting these stolen images is illegal and anyone who has done so will be prosecuted.
I empathize with any discomfort that this situation has caused to anyone that is involved.”
I mean okay but still. Why did he keep the topless pics? And also, all this heat over some topless tittays? Free the nipple, people! A woman should not face this much drama over an areola!
I don’t know who is investigating this crime but I hope Miss Vanjie is involved. She’ll get to the bottom of it. And when she does, Iggy will deal with them–whoever leaked these photos better watch out because she will take you out like Sally Walker and her Sugar Daddy!
