Pop star Dua Lipa recently took over the hosting duties on the late-night talk show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Lipa joked that Kimmel “tricked” her into accepting the role after she successfully pulled a prank on him in 2018 by barging into his bedroom in the middle of the night and performing a portion of her song “Electricity” in an effort to wake him up.
“Hello, and welcome to a very weird episode of MTV Cribs,” she began at the very start of the show.
In the interview section of the program, she sat down for a 10-minute chat with pop star, Gwen Stefani, with whom she recently collaborated on a remix of the song “Physical.”
“When you think that nothing’s ever gonna happen again, you get asked to be on your song, and I’m like ‘Yeah! Of course, I’ll do that!’ and you’re so cool, thanks for having me,” Stefani quipped.
Lipa also jokingly thanked Stefani for teaching her how to spell the word “banana,” referencing the latter’s widely beloved 2009 smash hit, “Hollaback Girl,” to which Stefani responded with the revelation that she is “actually a very bad speller, so I feel like it was God’s gift to me to gift to others.”
Meanwhile, Lipa is gearing up to release the remix album, Club Future Nostalgia, which also features collaborations with artists of the likes of Mark Ronson, Missy Elliott, and Madonna, among others.
In the same segment, Lipa revealed that the official animated video for the song “Physical” is slated to drop on August 28, exactly one week after the release of the album on August 21.
