Perhaps best known for her role as DJ Tanner in the ’80s/’90s sitcom Full House, Candace Cameron Bure ha come back into the public eye in recent years. She was the leading actor in the recently released Fuller House, which was a continuation of the original. She reprised her role as DJ Tanner, this time emulating her dad: a single parent with a community of friends and family to help. The actor even appeared on Dancing with the Stars, and spoke highly of her family then. One of Candace Cameron Bure’s kids even looks enough like her that she could be her twin. Keep reading to learn more about her family.
Candace Cameron Bure married young
Candace Cameron Bure got married when she was just 20, only a year after she met her future husband. Valeri Bure was a pro hockey player, and a Full House co-star introduced them. Dave Coulier, who played Uncle Joey on Full House, took Cameron Bure to a hockey game. When Valeri Bure caught her eye, Coulier helped introduce them. That was in 1995. They went on a date the next day, and were engaged in less than a year.
Cameron and Bure have been together ever since, and they’ve been married for two and a half decades.
Candace Cameron Bure and her husband have three kids — and her daughter, Natasha, is basically her twin
Natasha Bure was born two years after Candace and Valeri were married, when Candace was 22 years old. She had a son in 2000, whom they named Lev. In 2002, the couple welcomed their second son, Maksim.
Natasha celebrated her 23rd birthday in August 2021, and fans had a few things to say about the pictures that Candace Cameron Bure shared in honor of the event, according to E! Online.
Cameron Bure shared two photos of her and Natasha together on her daughter’s birthday. In both, they were wearing similar clothes, and fans loved seeing it because they look so much alike. “My gosh, you look like sisters,” one person wrote. Another said that they could both pass for 23 years old and yet another fan said that unless you knew which one was Natasha, you’d never guess which one was younger.
For the record, Candace Cameron Bure is 45.
Cameron Bure has no regrets about marrying young
It wasn’t until the kids were a little bit older that Cameron Bure went back to acting, but she had a few things to say about how she and husband Valeri handled things. The actor said that when she would work, her husband would step in to take care of things. That worked in reverse, too. Cameron Bure would step in and take care of the kids when Valeri worked. They switched off back and forth as much as they needed.
She says that sometimes, she has trouble disengaging with work and focusing solely on her kids and husband. Like many working parents, it’s hard to stop thinking about what needs to be done next and engage completely with family. Cameron Bure finds a way to make it work, though.
Both she and her husband are practicing and devout Christians. She credits their Christianity with keeping their marriage strong. She says that, when they disagree, they try to find compromise and direction in their faith. “It’s not about winning or losing,” she says, “but doing this journey together.”
She also says that she honors her husband and puts him on a pedestal. By doing so, she says, she encourages him to be the best husband and father that he can be. In return, he does the same for her. It seems to be working for them. In the meantime, we’ll be looking for many more amazing family photos!
